With the recent announcement that leading New Zealand trainer Mark Purdon is ready to close his Auckland training establishment and is weighing up his future in Christchurch too it is no surprise to hear the collective "groan" from rival Australian harness racing trainers.

Very much doubt there was a collective groan, there are good trainers in both countries - one thing for sure, it won't be easy to win a race at Menangle any time soon!! :)
