Heavy snow hits Canterbury region hard

Many Canterbury residents awoke this morning to find a heavy blanket of snow covering the ground right throughout the region. The snow began to fall early yesterday (Sunday) evening and continued to get heavier late last night and into the early hours of this morning, it was expected to ease towards lunch-time today.
