Worlds biggest(?) trot race on at Vincennes, Paris Sunday night our time. Hopefully doesn't get moved to Sky 2 :D:D . As always some awesome video preludes done by the French media on Youtube are available.

Bold Eagle has question marks over him but slowly working his way back into it (after injury) in his last few runs. Might be the first time in his recent career he doesn't start odds on favorite. Should be worth a look.... "Never write off a champion".

What a race it was. 6 official false starts and 3 other failed attempts to let them go.

But once they did....

How good is that !
Luke, I have no idea how you call this race so well...with horses and drivers with difficult to pronounce names, and the size of the field !!!
And it's in the middle of the night too !

Amazing call Luke.

The 43 min youbtube clip that follows it is also worth watching IMO even if it is in French (adds to the atmosphere) for the HD video quality it is worth it
There is 10 mins of lead up but you can admire the runners doing their warm up
Then there is 8 mins of false starts
Watch all the way to the presentations
We do not have to worry about the future of harness racing in France
The Prix d'Amerique would give the Melbourne Cup a run for its money as far as events go
This is what harness racing looks like when the crowd is packed to the rafters
The press all had numbered red bibs on and I saw the number 200 on one
The pools may not be Melbourne Cup but the Win pool was over €2m ($3m Au)

Edit: the official site says that €40m ($60m Au) was bet on the race!
