what's in a name????

Why is so difficult for people to refer to our sport as Harness Racing??? :confused:
With the current state of affairs in our sport - we need to try and lift our profile. The need to remove ourselves from the "red hots" is more than pressing.

Pretty hard when the majority of it's participants still refer to it as the 'trots'.

I never call it the red hots and resent that label. I always call it the trots - I see nothing wrong with that. Same as "thoroughbred racing" vs gallops. Most people use the latter.

How about the paces?

I know what the OP is getting at (I think) but I think its unrealistic of him/her to expect people to call it harness racing.
