Without looking into the pedigrees of these lots I was surprised at how low the average sale price was for these yearlings. Then again I was pleasantly surprised with how well the American Ideals sold with his service fee at $ 6000 I believe.

We really are spoilt for choice these days with stallions aren't we?,our Jereme's jet filly has broken in nicely and i like what he's done so far overseas so we have booked a couple to him.......still waiting for our American ideal's this year,a couple of our mares just don't want to give em up...........Love the breeding season!!!

I stand to be corrected but doesn't he stand in NJ? I wouldn't take his prices as an indication of his siring ability or offspring. Why buy a NJ baby when the NY and PA Sires Stakes are worth a hell of a lot more money.

I can't even see where the Meadowlands SS run this season, their "second stringer" sires stakes (Greenacres) only go for about $25,000.

With what is going on with NJ can you blame NJ sires for not doing so well? NJ going down the gurgler is the only reason why the Southern Hemisphere got access to Rocknroll Hanover at all IMHO.

What's happened in NJ is certainly a factor Flashing but for mine, it's by no means the whole box & dice.
He went in against the first crop of the great Somebeachsomewhere & that was a tough ask for all of the sires represented but even so, a number of them still did very well.
Even if moved RnR H to NY or Pa. I doubt his sale averages would be on the rise again.
The buyers must be getting off him for other reasons. I say this because if you look at the sale average (29k) vs the service fee (20k) and then the number of yearlings sold for the service fee or lower (19 of the 40 made 20k or less), I just don't think that's a reaction to the NJ situation alone.
