She was a lovely filly at the sales, refined. Her dam could really scoot too. Wicked high speed. Looking forward to seeing the filly go. Good luck in the qualifiers. The JJ's seem pretty upbeat horses, same as the AI's. They want to be there and enjoy it. Makes them a real pleasure to be around.

Hey triple - that is a nice colt. There are about 3-4 nice American Ideals down this way that should get up and running within the next few months. I am picking they will zip through the early grades very easily then head over to your neck of the woods.

G'day Don C,

They're exiciting horses, at least I think they are. Nathan's got a 2yo filly in Auckland on lease with option to purchase and she's apparently coming along really well. Half sister to that good horse of Tony H's...Livingontheinterest. Party Party's family. Dam's by In The Pocket. Fair chance it'll have some speed.
Laurence has one over there too. Can't remember the mare's name but she's by ITP too. Charlie bred them both.

Yeh, that filly of Reid's went good in Race 6 too, Victors Delight. Her dam was a terrific racemare.

Cheers SC. Thanks.
Yeh, the mare always does a good job with her foals. He's about 3 and 1/2 months old now. (Sept. 18th).
On type and on attitude I think he's not only the best colt we've ever bred but overall I think he's the best type we've ever bred. Much of the credit for him has to go to Nathan as I periodically wavered but he has always been rock solid on American Ideal.

A close friend bought an American Ideal filly in Sydney last year. She's seriously the fastest young horse I've ever seen ... they're taking her slowly but she has all the ingredients of a top horse.

How's the Jereme's Jet colt shaping up Ben? He was a very nice horse.

Very well apparently, Jaimie. He's been with Geoff Webster and was being set for early two-year-old races but he got an infection when they gelded him which has set him back a bit. It's a shame as we have a McArdle half-sister in the sales, so would have helped to have him show up before then. But if he makes a nice horse eventually I'll be happy.
The mare now has a lovely American Ideal filly at foot and we put her back to JJ.

[VVV] Hey Ben. Was that the filly from Champagne Blues?
She had some zip too. John Ogden used to drive her, won quite a few at HP, got beat in the Raith Memorial but it was a pretty hot field so no shame there...Threepence, Protikori, Queen's Gambit & Vixen Hanover finished ahead of her but not by much.

[VVV] Cheers Greg. Every so often you spin the genetic chocolate wheel & everything just falls into place.

Hey VVV, yes, that's the one. She's head down and all go. Perfect gait, fantastic attitude ... reminds me plenty of the good American Ideals I saw in the States. It's easy to make predictions before they hit the track but she's definitely heading in the right direction.
