Two trials and then 1st up at 3yrs, powered out of 6 and straight to the top in 27.1, 55.5 through to the half, 1:24 & a peice at the 3/4s & 1:53.6 at the wire. Very impressive & he will have been significantly sharpened by the outing. GO YOU GOOD THING! :D

The 2nd horse was just as good Pay the man! Both winner and runner up destined for better things

G'day Chop,

BIG difference is the 2nd horse was race fit (5th start in this season) while the winner was not (1st start this season).
2nd horse really appreciated the genuine tempo though, has some bottom. Finished it off when the rest were stopping.
Way back the 2nd horse is from an old Carlton Stud family.

Do you still go around saying the Art Major colts are no good...??:):)

I don't know what you mean Mightymo. You must have me confused with someone else. Besides, some good friends of mine own him. ;)

My hypocrisy knows no boundaries. There, are you satisfied?

btw...you've got time to comment on that. How about the Oz Sires List thread?
C'mon now, you're not getting out of it that easily. Hang your Hat on it Mightmo! :p

Ahh sounds scary...he'd be off to Bathurst as well Id guess as he was last season from memory.. Maybe we are both wrong on the top 3yo triplev?

He was the one I was alluding to earlier breno.
Fingers crossed for a big season, the crew that own him are a terrific lot.
Great stamp of a colt too, really well made, powerful, very classy.
If you're at the races and get a chance to do so, go have a look at him.

Oh right! Thought you said somewhere it was unraced, maybe you said unraced at 3 - anyway glad to know theres only one and not two horses to be extra wary of! Hopefully will get a chance to see him in the flesh soon.

It's great to see another colt step up and into the firing line. Looking forward to Bathurst.

A shame the trainer has a great reputation of 'sending them off their rocker'.

I beleive this horse either has a bone chip in a hock or knee? and the trainer has opted not to operated.

I really feel for Laurence Dawson. Great bloke but geez he looks like a monkey sometimes the way he drives them. But not at his doing. The trainer always wants his horses to go forward when sometimes it may not be the best move.

Sad to see such an up coming horse, to be ruined,

Well, they'll both be up at Bathurst next Monday mate so if you believe you have the good oil on everything, if you feel so strongly about it all and most importantly of all...if you have the Cojones required to do so, then wander over & repeat those comments to them in person. After all, that would only be fair, the right thing to do, it would be in keeping with the way in which grown men go about resolving differences of opinion...would it not? Then again, perhaps cheap shots and low blows from complete anonymity on an Internet Forum is the very best that you can muster. The ball is in your court.

Good looking boy... Seemed a little one paced down the home straight but he will improve with fitness, looks promising

Very average field so he should win that with ease if he handles the track.

Indeed. Untouched.
Laurence was called into the Stewards Room after the race & warned with regard to his unauthorised impersonation of Alf Phillis, one which began around the 400m mark & continued all the way to the wire.

Shocker in the Derby heat, was it 700m too far? He was gone at the 500.
Did something go wrong???
Royal Verdict excellent, best I have seen him since winning 2yo Breeders final.
Excel Stride dominant.

are they still scraping nsw's best 3yr old off the track?
