Iam wanting to know the value of a mare named SOCOTRA she has a Blissfull Hall filly foal at foot and in foal to Aces N Sevens just wondering what people would value her at

mango
04-21-2011, 05:19 PM
Not sure on the value but as a guess 12-14k if it was me and i was thinking of selling i'd sell the mare in foal and then put the Blissfull Hall filly through the yearling sale's.

The negatives: Bissfull Hall and a filly

The positives: Troublemaker mare who whilst hasnt thrown any champions, has certainly thrown horses with ability

I agree with Mango. Without wanting to offend, I think 12k is about right

I disagree with mango about putting the filly through the sales though. i think you wont get anywhere near its fair vlaue

Hi Mightymo

With the mare having 3 winners out of 4 old enough to race and one of them being Work Of Artist who won this years 2yr old Lombo fillies final winner it might sell ok. It all depends on looks and i do agree that B-Hall fillies don't sell well but i reckon that filly could bring $10k at the Bathurst sale if it is a good type which is nearly what the 3 in one package is worth.

I have seen the filly and she is just about faultless i tend to agree with mango to sell that way (splitting them up) she is not mine just making some enquiries as i think the mare and foal may come up for sale in the near future

you would need to spend another 4K on the filly just to get it to bathurst etc, pay sales commission so it would not be worth it

Hi Mightymo

I do understand that but i was of the assumption that Winston owned them and would of prepared the filly.

Greg Hando
04-23-2011, 02:14 PM
A friend owns them and they would be prepared by himself

buster
04-23-2011, 02:22 PM
i think they'd nearly be giving the filly away at a sale, i'd be keeping her at home

Hey Winston

Has your friend been getting any call's at the $20k mark.

Dug out the catalogues. At Mick's on-property sale back in early July of 2010 she sold for $5,000 in foal to Blissfull Hall, went to a bloke from Dubbo, NSW by the surname of Burns. Her most recent yearling, a colt by Pocket Watch named Willing Hand Lombo, was sold for $3,750 to Tony Conte.

G'day Mango what do you reckon she will be for sale for a long time at that money i told him 12 top dollar

mango
05-04-2011, 08:29 AM
Hi Winston

I wish your mate all the best in selling her but for me she's way over's. Mightmo put a price ($12k) on her and he is a gentleman that buy's and sell's not only in Australia but New Zealand as well so he know's what his talking about so i think that would of been the price i'd be putting on her. I think the downfall in selling her is that the sire's are not that commercial these day's in that you would be able to recoup your money through the yearling sale's so the people that would be looking at buying her would be the people who would race her stock and $20k isn't what they would pay.

Greg Hando
05-04-2011, 04:20 PM
She will never be sold at that money it is just ridiculous to even ask it

mango
05-04-2011, 05:50 PM
Wasted his time putting the add on and now i think about it i wasted my time reading it, can i bill him for that.

mango
05-17-2011, 08:29 AM
Hey Winston

How did he go trying to sell that mare.

Greg Hando
05-17-2011, 05:53 PM
Ha ha still there and will be for a long time no phone calls was the last i heard

mango
05-17-2011, 06:45 PM
Looks like his racing then, the mare would owe him no more than $10k and his not going to get anywhere near $20k so tell him to enjoy himself racing and breeding. And there's some breeding there so he might get lucky and get something that can run.

Greg Hando
05-18-2011, 01:16 AM
She owes him about 8,000 tops if she was mine i would race her as well and the family IMO is to good to sell just got to get the right sires over her i think

mango
05-18-2011, 09:08 AM
Hi Winston

You have hit the nail on the head she needs the right sire to be infoal to and if she was she would be worth some money. The Blissfull Hall filly and infoal to Aces doesn't do much for me you would only be buying her to race those progeny. If you friend goes back through the sale results and look's at what there been selling for he would rethink his price. Over the past 2yrs there's been some nicely breed fillies sell cheap as fillies are hard to sell unless they are in the top bracket which she is not.

mango
06-11-2011, 09:38 AM
Hi Winston

I see this mare is for sale infoal to Ace's for $12,500, the package with the Blissfull Hall filly was worth about that and now with out the Blissfull Hall filly it's a $7.5k mare.

Sorry for the late reply Mango been away for a month in the sick bay
Totally agree with you there on that one Mango some people may be just greedy and hoping someone will turn up with the cash

mango
06-19-2011, 10:59 AM
Hi Winston

Sick bay mate that's know good, i hope all is well now. Maybe it might be worth a go at putting that mare in the Peppertree sale in September you never know he might get lucky.

Greg Hando
06-21-2011, 03:42 PM
Alls ok now with the sick bay
I suggested putting her in the sale but haven't heard anything back

I see the yearling by Lombo Pocket Watch for sale for $55,000 now i dont know who's dreaming

mango
06-29-2011, 07:35 PM
Hey Winston

Where did you see that cause that's a lot of coin for a yearling by an unproven sire.

Hey Winston

Just come across the add :

STORMEE
Broken in and gaited
A classy individual $55k

I thought you were geeing me up when i read your post and then i came across the add on the Harness Web. They purchased the colt for $3,750 so if they sell him they are making a nice little profit.

thats a fair mark up!!!

Id be interested to know what it has shown in June to justify that price

Even the people doing horses for the ready to runs havent got a handle on them yet...

mango
07-01-2011, 05:13 PM
Hi Mightymo

$55k is a lot of money for a yearling that say's broken in and gaited, you would be better of waiting for the RTR sale in n.z and with the exchange rate that $55k is about $70 n.z and you would get a nice horse for that and at least you would see them run a long a bit.

Greg Hando
07-02-2011, 01:45 AM
for that money he would want to be able to run about 2.02 and a half in under or close to the 1.00

mango
07-02-2011, 08:19 AM
Correct there Winston, but to be honest with you i'd hate to see a yearling running those time's this early in the piece. I remember talking to Mark Purdon on how he preps his youngsters and he said they get broken in then have a month or so of and then they come in for 10-12 wks and at the end of that prep he like's them to work down to 2:10, so it would be interesting at what stage this colt is at and as Mightymo posted people doing yearling's for the RTR sale havn't got a handle on them yet.

Greg Hando
07-02-2011, 04:28 PM
For mine they should be able to brush up a good furlong under 16 at this stage before starting their second prep

mango
07-02-2011, 05:34 PM
It would be interesting to see what this $55k yearling can actually do whether it be a furlong in under 16 seconds or a mile in 2:10, all it say's is broken in and gaited and if that's all that's been done i can't see how one can warrant putting such a hefty price on him.

Greg Hando
07-02-2011, 05:54 PM
You couldn't put a price on him like that unless he's shown something pretty special right from day one

mango
07-02-2011, 06:02 PM
Just my personal opinion i think it is still to early to tell and if i had that sought of coin i would be waiting for the Ready To Run in N.Z or Bathurst towards the later part of year where you can see them zip a long a bit and get more of an idea.

mango
07-10-2011, 08:32 AM
Hi Latemail

The add appears on the right hand side on the main page and if it's not there click to go to something else and it might pop up on the next page your on it's in the same spot as where Peppertree Farm are offering to go to there website to do pedigree matching for there stallion's and where Betstar has an add also. It's a light blue add and it reads Two rising horses and the add keeps changing and in the other parts as the add change's it says:

One trotter (Trots like a derby contender)

One pacer (Could be the next Lombo Pocket Watch)

Yeah i just seen that i had to look twice, i'm thinking of sending a couple of mine down to him to see if he can off load at those prices lol. If he got the money or there about's what he was asking for i was way out for assuming they were worth a quarter of there asking price.
