When his best days were very far behind him? I remember a couple years ago thinking how disgraceful it was that the owners continued to race him when he would nearly fall down in races at Woodbine. Towards the end of his career he was racing in 2:02 and Kiawartha Downs. This horse should have been retired (for good) years ago and this horse continued to be thrown out on the racetrack when he clearly did not want to be or deserve to be there.

And now just 9 months later from his last race he is dead. Makes you wonder.

Ownership claims that when they retired him the first time he was not happy. They claimed he enjoyed racing and the routine of training. That being said, when he could no longer do at WEG the second time around, they probably should have retired him then.

As for his death, it was one of those freak things that happened. A shame, but it was a freek thing.

This is a little off topic... but why is Dreamfair Eternal racing this weekend? Why are they racing her against the boy in an open in late November? Hasn't she done enough this year to deserve some time off?
