First race win a salute to someone special

Tuesday's (May 24) win by Summer Man at Addington Raceway meant so much more to harness racing trainer Alan Russell than on-lookers could have imagined. It was Russell's first official win in the sulky and Summer Man's last race before retiring, but more importantly was the heart-felt salute by Russell as he crossed the line, meant for someone very special, his Mum Daphne who passed away three weeks ago.
