defamatory of Luke McCarthy . In these quotes I branded Luke a cheat who had raped the

Will be a very interesting dual this one. Habibti has proved her worth against the boys in NZ and of course against our Blitzthemcalder posting a sprintlane win over him after he did a lot of work.
Spidergirl is racing exceptionally well rating 1:59.7 over 2190m at her last race which i think i heard may have been a track record...?
Will SpiderG lead? Victorian trotters dont all have a great record first up at Menangle.
Will Duchess Ella fly over both of them with the right run?
And Maori Time looks quite special after only 2 races, held up last run against SpiderG.
Either way will be a great race, looking forward to it.

Sportsbet currently advertise they will pay the highest tote odds available to you on
"every race, every day".
Now unless you arent concentrating 100% on the ad, and then go to their website and see another ad that says "every race, every day" you assume that that means every race every day. wow, thats great, solves the problem, sign me up.
Then you place a bet and not get the highest odds available, a winner paid $1.50 in Vic tab but $1.80 in NSW, but thats great cos i get every race every day.
However it only paid me 1.50 so i queried them online and then they expose the real truth that is quite skimmed over, its just gallops we do this, not trots, not dogs.
So b careful people, they do not SUFFICIENTLY make it obvious enough that the 2 codes are not included. Very deceptive in my opinion.

I spent a beautiful sunny arvo at Stawell yesterday - my new home/nearest track. It reminded me why I keep coming back to Harness Racing and I have had long spells away and even flirted with following the Gallops - it is the Closeness.

My old home track - Yarra Glen was good (far more scenic LOL, Stawell could surely do with some rain) but with a gallops track around it you felt slightly distant. Yesterday at Stawell with 7 across over the short distance, standing near the fence on this perfectly still day, you could feel the drag created by the outside runner after the mobile released them - it was like being back at the Showies.

Stawell's small amphitheatre makes it so easy to follow the runners. This is why I could never be a regular attender of the gallops - for most of the race you cannot see them with the naked eye and unless you fancy binoculars you need a TV screen, in which case you may as well not be there! Indeed the gallops are such a social event because you can't see the real event.

As for yesterday's racing:

Aheadofhistime is a tough 3g from the same family as Excel Stride and Armalight - and not too far removed from these two. Although he did it very tough after drawing 7 around this tight circuit, they did only rate 2.02 over the short trip.

Indulgent 4g played with them and will improve on his 5w form 25 starts. Have to love the naming: Real Desire - Calories, Calories being What's Next - Gateau, Gateau being French Chef - La Pomme Souffle. :)

I feel a bit cheated after getting a ringside seat on Sunday via camera, watching Darren remonstrating to Reid as to why Gaius Caesar should not be withdrawn, today all we got is a simple the press release and that's it.

It would have been a great sequel following the pilot episode and would have drawn a strong audience. Come on HRNSW, lets keep the cameras on.

I can totally feel for Darren, the frustration must have been all consuming...but for someone so pissed off I thought he showed great restraint even though he was pushing .... up hill. Under the rules as they stand he was always fighting a losing battle...interesting though when you compare it to the Karloo Mick incident a few years ago in NZ with that horse being treated with Aloe Vera on race day.
The 3 faves have drawn wide in the Northern Trotting Derby at least, so if he handles the track better this time hopefully they can see his best again like his first run there where he had the toughest run and was only sprintlaned out by 20cm!!!

Should be a great Rowe Cup too, Stent very impressive last week, can Vulcan get his mojo back?
Oh and that average horse Christen Me is Havin a run too!! :) he will smash em again!

Whilst I cast no suggestion of wrong doing, it must be asked who keeps the Stewards in check for their actions.

This role is the domain of the Integity Dept....but now the Chairman of Stewards is the Manager of the Integrity Dept.

Given the actions taken at the MM meeting, should a challenge by someone against the procedures adopted by the stewards on the day be made, who will it be referred to.

At the moment it's the same person as I see it.

What do others think?
