There is also a NZ thread on the Australia Harness Racing forum It can be found here https://www.harnessracingforum.com/showthread.php?18018-New-Zealand-Racing
I know Perth is a long way away but you lot seem to send a lot of horses over there so you might know a bit about racing at Gloucester Park. You guys also like knocking off the Aussies (Hunter Cup first 4) so give it a shot and enter a stable in the...
This past summer I shot a documentary about one of Canada's longest lasting and most prestigious harness racing events, The Gold Cup and Saucer, which takes place every year on the east coast of Canada on Prince Edward Island. I recognize that...
Neat race coming up on Saturday. The added bonus is last years winner De Lovely drawing 1. For mine, it will be Bettor Cover Lover to win well.
Anyone got any thoughts on the competition so far. While I haven't seen every race the couple I did see were very ordinary in terms of driving. The concept is a great one though and I hope it continues to grow internationally. Go Steve Philips!!
Sad to hear the passing of one the stalwarts of harness racing in Doug Mangos. I vividly remember having a punt on Doug's horses when they graced a field. Doug trained and drove some nice horses over the years. He will be missed.
BIG CONGRATS to Woodlands Stud NZ Agent John Devlin, part-owner of 3yo gelding Ideal Scott (American Ideal-Tuapeka Wings-Falcon Seelster) winner of the 275k Open Sales Final at Auckland just moments ago. Pretty to watch mate. Well done. :D
G'day all, Am a bit slow in posting this however... for those who haven't seen it, watch the replay of the NRM 3yo colts & geldings Sires Stakes Final at Addington last Tuesday & closely follow the drive Dexter Dunn gives Cran Dalgety's colt...
You have to feel for Waiau Pa horseman, Brent Mangos. Just hours after he won the Victoria Oaks with Bettor Cover Lover the champion fiilly almost died on her way home - ensuring a sad but sudden end to her brilliant yet brief racing career. Read...
I thought it was time to post about the good work Jess Davidson does on trackside. I know our standard of Harness presenters has not been flash over the past year or so but this girl has done a great job. You can see her passion for the game and...
Nice to have the catalogue out. It's my favourite reading over the Christmas break!!;)
Nice win there in the FFA at Addington. Put away a few big names in the process.
With Cup week done and dusted there seems to be a passing of the torch from our well established horses: Monkey King, Power Of Tara, Springfield Richard, Sovereignty etc onto the new and just as exciting horses like, Terror To Love, Franco Emirate,...

Should be a terrific race- Can Smoken Up go one better? What is everyone tipping??
With Terror To Love winning last night it has made the NZ Cup winner as clear as a chocolate milkshake. If Smokin Up arrives, he will clearly be the one to beat otherwise I don't think I have seen any horse announce that he/she will be a clear...
In view of the ho hum lip service National has paid to the Industry over the last 3 years, perhaps it may not be a stupid idea to email/contact the major players to get their intentions (if any) for the next three years. It would be interesting...
Away 3rd last, worked 3 wide & to the breeze with about 1000m to go, down the centre of the straight & toughs it out to post a very classy victory. 1:59.8 from the stand, I think it was 2400m? 55.4 & 27.9 home. If he's not going to be a HUGE force...
Anyone know when they'll be available on line...if at all?
Sydney have been granted the Inters till 2015 so you can expect big changes to the format which may well spell the end of the Series as we have known it for so long now. I really expect that it may become just one big race (like the Miracle...
Race 1 at Ashburton............Dexter won on his first drive back. He simply carries on as if he has never been away. :D
