The Australian and NZ yearling sales are only a few months away ... Do you expect there will be any surprise packets among the stallions - or will Bettors Delight, Art Major, Christian Cullen still dominate? Are there any lots in particular...
Just received and watched a couple of Mpg replays of two American Ideal fillies qualifying at The Meadowlands, American Jewel went in 1:54 & Romantic Moment in 1:55 & a piece. VERY impressive. Jimmy Takter has got them both I believe.
The new roster is up on twitter and probably their web site. Not too many changes.

We will start at the very beginning Aachen 1952 (cunningly named to be first sire in the Stud Book) Once holder of the unbeaten winning sequence for ANZ with 20 Sadly his son Bylaw was the end of his sire Springfield Globe's male line (maybe...
G'day all, Just been looking over some of the recent 2yo qualifiers and there's a 2yo filly in VIC that Caleb Lewis has, went around in a trial at Terang, & it's bred 3x3 to Storm Damage, being by Grinfromeartoear from a Vinter mare. Used to see...
Year after year new stallions arrive on the scene and are vigorously promoted by the studs standing them as the next "big" thing, however many fail miserably. So what commercial sire (served over 200 mares) do people regard as the biggest failure or...
We are fast running out of time. First season sire (in Aus) Betting Line is near the top of the table but he had a big first crop and has already had 23 to race for 6 winners. 22 of them are from good mares or families. His best so far...
Now that the great Bettor’s Delight and Art Major are getting on in years and the sad and tragic demise of Somebeachsomewhere, There might be an opportunity for a young stallion to throw down the gauntlet and challenge the elderly masters.
Does this stallion still stand at Mountain View stud - he is not listed on the HRA's stallion page. Notched up 2 winners at Melton tonight
I have an unraced 3yo filly called Triple Sec by Mach Three from Sagrantino. She was an embryo transfer. She is very small (much smaller than any of her other siblings) Due to her size, i have just left her in the paddock. I am thinking of...
I have a New Zealand-bred four-year-old Artsplace mare who is racing quite nicely at the moment in Australia. What is everyone's opinion on embryo transfer? I've always been an advocate of allowing a mare to carry and raise her own progeny - but...
I have a Safely Kept half-sister to Distant Memory. Foaled late, first live foal, wasn’t going to breed this season but we may try one straw. The mare’s best performing sibling, Distant Memory, is by Troublemaker (Most Happy Fella). Another...
Hopefully this works. Rgds Jaimie
We are breeding 2 mares this year, we breed to sell and after looking at our results/costs over the last couple of years have decided to cut back by 80%. The mares we are breeding can (fingers crossed) produce offspring that will bring a return...

The Brisbane sale results are now on their website, very poor results. Is the Brisbane sale generaly the poorest of the apg's? Are the costs the same to feed and care for horses in QLD as in other sates? I get it.........they breed for the...
Some of the big stud farms in NA have a reasonable number of quality broodmares that they use to support the stallions they are standing. Is this so in AU & NZ? who would have the best band of broodmares in the southern hemisphere, would it be...
