Getting close now :)
Clocked 25.6 last sectional in his final hit out on Thurs which is the fastest officially clocked in a Menangle workout,long-time harness racing media representative Adam Hamilton said "he didn't appear fully extended". Yes!! be obsessed!!
Our Triple Treat just got up at Sunny Coast, is that an omen?
I'm shaking, that was unbelievable. Last to first. He is a Champion with a capital C! Great call doinmabest. Go Quinny
Yes thats was unbelieaveable finish....trackside stated it would be hard for horses to come from last. Not for quinny
Go Brenno money for nothing, surely he has nothing left to prove.
They went the last half mile in 55 flat. Quinny must have gone close to 54.
It doesn't get better than that. Ab-so-lutely nothing left to prove.
All hail the Mighty Quinn.
I'm a very, very happy Sandgroper.

What a win!!!.What a Champion!!!.Now a legend.
Congratulations to connections he has always been a great horse that deserved respect but now he definetly is one of the best we have seen, and hes not finished yet.
My never ending defence of I'm Themightyquinn has been vindicated; to all the doubters...... your education has been complete.
Rod, you can now use the classic line: "I rest my case".
However, I fear the knockers will find something to pick on.
Roll on the Auckland Cup net weekend. Hope GH can keep him fit for another crack at the Miracle Mile in April. Could he become Australasia's second sub-1:50 pacer?

My influence seems to travel some distance, I see Harnesslink News has used the words''powder puff champion'',with regards to ITMQ,but not in a derogatory way.
Gary Hall Snr has used the term a few times. To my recollect the only time '' Powder Puff Champions'' has been mentioned was by me in one of my posts some few weeks ago.
In no way was I referring to ITMQ, I was applying it to some Eastern States horses.
There can't have been too many doubters by raceday. They were jumping from trees to back him.
Hamilton said pre race that 95 or 99 precent of the money TAB Sportbet had taken on the day was for Quinn. The punters got it spot on, always good to see.
The best part is what Lenny has said there. He's not done with yet. On face value from yesterday, he is going better than ever.
I notice barely a word has been raised on here in regard to the rematch of TTL and IMTQ tonight in Auckland. I am expecting a different result tonight in the hope TTL gets a better run in transit. Now if he gets the breaks and gets to the front at the right time, then it will take everything plus some for IMTQ to get over the top of him tonight. Racetime 19:40.
Its a quality field and worthy of the $250K prizemoney. TTL $2.60 fixed odds, IMTQ $2.30 fixed odds.
Wonder if Brennos spent all his cash in Fiji yet or if he has saved some for tonight. (Or can he even get on?)
Just read the Harnesslink article on tonights race and they said TTL was a bit disappointing in the ID...I thought it was a great run personally. Connections say they will run the gate and lead regardless. We will probably have an idea of the outcome after the first 400m. I will be backing up on TTL, thinking he may get a soft lead, slow them up and negate the finish of IMTQ. Time will tell tho'...
I just want to see these two go toe to toe with no excuses in the mix!
I started a thread on the Auckland Cup on the NZ forum, but no one has ventured their views yet. Yes, a stretch duel between ITMQ and TTL would be something to savour. I think if TTL has more than two lengths on ITMQ at the top of the stretch then it would take an unprecedented last quarter to catch him. If Quinny has maintained his form from the Inters (and Senior claims he is just as good if not even better since last Sunday!), then we are in for a helluva fast finish. IMO it will take better than 26 secs to peg back TTL.
However, there may a wild card or two in that pack. Gold Ace, I'm Victorious, perhaps?

What a auckland cup win by itmq went early, sat park then gary hit the turbo button
Thats how you win a Group 1. Gary Hall Jnr took the race by the scruff of the neck and put it beyond doubt on the corner. Great horse great win.
NOW CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT RICKY MAY WAS DOING ON TTL???? Yes Danno the riders in the stand are at it again...asking questions.
Did he realise there was a race on? Protecting your horse is one thing, denying it any realistic opportunity is a little bit different. After all Im Themightyquin was in the same race and being driven like a good thing.
Junior just said on Sky Racing that Quinny would be going to the Miracle Mile, provided the he has pulled up well after tonight's big race. He did concede that it was actually Senior's decision whether or not to travel again to Menangle for the MM. Fingers crossed.
I think i miss the whole race by getting to over excited... and then i saw terror to love storming home,
G'day all, first post for me.
Just about to have dinner with one of Quinnies owners. Always a good time but after Sunday and todays win it might be a big one tonight.
Senior just told A Hamilton on Trackside from Perth via phone that there is NO WAY TMQ goes to the MM.
He is going to spell and head to senior real target... NZ Cup in November.
Senior makes the decisions and ...Quote... I'm putting my foot down here...unquote...snr..!!!
Champion!
Now that was good.
I think Jnr would've been very nervous going forward so early tho, it was only because at the 1600 when The Gold Ace got the lead and put the brakes on so his stablemate could go around him again to regain the lead, that a chain reaction caused some trouble and Quinn got pushed out 3 wide, from there He couldn't really go backwards, so he went forward and ended up in the death at bell. Luckily also it was a slowish race, 4 seconds slower than when he won this in 2011. With a mile rate of 1:59.6 this year vs 1:57.6. That was tho the best I have seen him race.
Was that the worst drive by Ricky May in Aus NZ this year, handing up to a $39 chance who is stablemate of Gold Ace?!!!
I do believe he would've won if he didn't have to give Quinn 6-8 lengths at the top of the straight cos he made up a lot of ground the last furlong, good thing beaten, no disrespect to Quinn he ran super.
ITMQ can do the impossible. The horse was just about on the outside fence in last position at the start with junior really trying to rein him into the running line after 300 metres. In the meantime the horses upfront were a mile in front of him including TTL, then got a cart up behind Fly Like an Eagle, sat in the breeze at the 700 metre mark and then stormed away from them. TTL a good thing beaten?- I don't think so. Every horse gets their chance over 2700 metres and no doubt Quinny
has got a lot of drivers running scared, and lets face it, there was still daylight between ITMQ and TTL at the finish. Glad to see a lot of members coming out from under their rocks to acknowledge the best horse in Australasia , something I've been doing non stop since I joined the forum two and a half years ago.
FOOTNOTE.
Australasia's best pacer not only won his second Auckland Cup at Alexandra Park tonight (Friday March 8) but Themightyquinn absolutely annihilated his 12 harness racing opponents in the prestigious $250,000 Group One feature.
Geez Rod!! he"s such a lucky horse,he gets all the lucky runs, and they run so slow everytime he has to race the best.He is only good on the small Perth track and very very lucky there too.Oh but the opposition there are nearly as weak as everywhere else as well tho.Good onya Rod sticken to your truth about the champ.
At the end of the day circumstances forced Quinnie and Hall out of their comfort zone and they still brained them.
I didn't think IMTQ could win the inter or the auckland cup. I just want to say that I was wrong . Please destroy this post after you read it .
Gutwagon.
