Is RocknRoll Heaven well known in Australia?
I'm sure he will be ... he's due to stand at stud here next season (about 12 months from now). It will be interesting to see what service fee they put on him. I'd be guessing around $6000.
Is that cheap? I heard he is going to be 12,000 to 15,000 in America.
RH is well known in OZ even before his Jug & Crown performances I hope he is around th $5-6,000 mark I just think thats a good fare price for a good horse down here his dad has a frozen semen price of $24,750 in OZ
That price would be good. i think it will be @8k. He is a machine. Hope he's available in NZ
Where will he stand in Australia?
Is that a big breeding farm?I am sorry but is Cowra n.s.w in Australia ? Sorry don't really get out of New York much.
Yes Cowra is in Australia and its a decent size stud farm, horses standing their this season are Aces and Sevens, Always A Virgin, Sportswriter and frozen semen for Somebeachsomewhere and a couple of years ago they had Art Major and Ponder. Id say Rob and the team will have no trouble in getting a full book to Rocknroll Heaven with good mare's when he arrives next year. Would love to know where he will be standing in the U.S and what price he is.
In the US RNR HEAVEN will be standing at Perretti Farms in NJ for 12000-15000
Rocknroll Heaven just won the Tattersalls pace in 1:48.1 and that should put him over the line for Horse of the Year, will that win push his service fee up?
In America he will probably be 15000
How many horses will Heaven breed his first year in the southern hemisphere?
Who know depends on the price $5-8,000 possibly a full book to me fist season sires need to get foals on the ground ASAP and need that first 2-3 season full book, it will be interesting now with veiwing the Breeders Crown on Sky in Australia and the hype that was generated about R&RH and that he delivered on the day. Its all a positive for the horse the best free promo live racing from the US beamed into the southern hemisphere.
It depends on if they transport semen to New Zealand or not and if they do i think they could serve 200 in Aus and another 100 in N.Z without any problem. He is a great race horse and got breeding behind him, would love to know your thoughts on comparing Heaven and Sportswriter as race horses and what size is heaven as i've been told his not a big horse. It also depends on price that will be the telling factor.
Well I prefer Heaven he has won on all tracks. Sports didn't win a race on any track but his own Mohawk wich is a 7/8ths and had a lot of health issues. Heaven is a small horse 15 1/2 hands ,But when I went to see him at the Jug he is wide and long all muscle. Thats my opinion I have three mares in America and Im on a list to breed to Heaven.
This horse is a machine and you don't get better credentials that a $2million season. If the Stallion Station think Art Official is worth $6000 then surely Rock n Roll Heaven will fill his book at $8K
Hi Termite
I'd have to agree with you, you could also take a look at Shadow Play who stands for $5500 who is know where near the horse or has the breeding of Rocknroll Heaven, thats another thing i like about Heaven is that his dam is a 1:50.2 winning Artsplace mare who's fullbrother is a 1:50.1 $1.2 mil winner so if he comes out here at $8000 he will be booked out in the first wk.
Pepper Tree farms Mr Rob Vandyke would have to be Australias number one stud master/stud owner, with the stallions he has supplied to the market in the last couple of years and what he has to come.
Someone please let me know if there is anyone else who has done as good a job in acquiring the type of stallions he has.
The number of mares RnRH will breed? Call and ask, or send an email. From what I have seen you will get
a straight answer.
I read an article on Rob Vandyke and getting Heaven , he said he flew to the U.S to meet the Bellino family before the jug and made a deal with them on a hand shake he said, the Bellino family was offered a better deal after the jug but kept their word to him and signed a contract after the BC .They must be some good guys to do business with.
Fullerton you are correct . I own RnR Heaven and that's the way it happened, is that the article in the harness edge?
Wow hi Mr Bellino big fan of you and your horses. Yes it was in the magazine .Is RnR Heaven almost booked in N/A I myself are trying to send some mares to him and it seems I am on a waiting list.
Like your style Mr Bellino. Hope all the success comes you and your family's way.
Don. Fullerton I know they are sorting out the mares they want to breed to him you have to remember there is a limited amount this year of 140 so I think he is pretty close to full. Thanks for the kind words
In an article in the latest edition of Harness Racing Update, Mike Kimmelman mentioned that after Rock N Roll Heaven breeds 140 mares at Blue Chip, he will go into quarantine (July), and then on to Pepper Tree Farm where he could cover as many as 300 mares.
The book in the southern hemisphere is unlimited. The book in America is limited to 140
Hi J Bellino, Your horse is awesome.
The 140 limit in NA is that because they focus on selling yearlings as an income as well as the service fee and in Australia and NZ
with the unlimited number the income only comes from the service fees. is that making any sense?
If a stallion is capable of attracting 500 or 600 mares and can produce enough semen to breed them, with a good pregnany rate.
So what, The rules allow for this and other stallions have done it and so for an equal chance of success justdoit:)
The stallions are only collected 3 days a week? I am told, only 3 times a week. The natural breeders are doing it 3 times a day when they are in the peak of the breeding season and so the life of a standardbred stallion is no worries as long as he likes the rubber vagina...
I like your choice of stud farms and wish you & your horse continued success.
Back to the Beach, hate this life:)
Thank you . justdoit
We might do a mare via embryo transfer with him next season.... by the way Triplev, where is that article you promised me? :D Does anyone know his official height? Someone said 15 1/2, but he looks smaller than that? Obviously TV can be disceiving. :) One thing that isn't deceiving is that he is a truly good looking standardbred! :)
15 1/2 hands . You are correct.
Thank you very much for your input, I'll be passing it on Mr Bellino :) If things go to plan, I'm sure you will be extremely happy with this mare. She is a little on the small side like your bloke, but also like your bloke she is solid, a massive rump and chest, a beautiful looking and bred filly :)
Hello Mr Bellino
Hello Mr Bellino,
You must be so proud of your horse Rock N Roll Heaven. I live in Brisbane Australia and have already contacted Pepper Tree Farm regarding booking several mares to your stallion.
Are you able to email me or post links to where I can recive some high quality images of this super horse.
Regards,
Sue
If you will pm me you e-mail addresses I can send you some.
Hello Flashing Red,
I have read that most of Rock N Roll Hanovers best horses have been from Artsplace mares. I have 2 mares by sons of Artsplace, so a son of Rock N Roll Hanover ( Rock N Roll Heaven ) may be the way to go. Correct me if I am wrong but this would be a 3 x 3 cross. Breeding experts is this good or bad ?
Regards,
Sue
Hello Mr. Bellino,
I sent an email yesterday to you.
Regards,
Sue
Hi Mr Bellino
I was just wondering do you breed from many mare's and how did the half sister to Rocknroll Heaven by Bettor's break in.

All three will be going to Heaven. As far as his sister her name is Heavensbettor Half we are very impressed with her right now she is very athletic and very very smart.
