Steve caught me napping and found a big longshot for the new season (I have finally returned home after 3wks away)
He can't beat the early leader but Larwood won at Mildura tonight and paid $93.90
http://www.harness.org.au/meeting-re...ic#MLC08091604
Even closer, Feel The Buzz paying $97.70 at Melton tonight
http://www.harness.org.au/meeting-re...ic#MXM10091605
I thought Tassie fell under SuperTab (isn't that Vic)
The story says Musselroe Bay was $132 on SuperTab but the results only say $62

An honourable mention to the David Miles trained Classiemahon who won his M0 at Melton tonight despite drawing 7 and paid a handsome $61.10
Winner of R1 at Cranbourne last night - Major Charge was $65 and second place Ears Ponder was $161, throw in Zuko Dream at $12 for third and even though the long Odds On fav was forth most of the First 4 jackpotted. Consequently a $6k carryover from a $9k pool became a $41k pool in the second - it just has to be pros as not many mum and dad punters would have even known about the jackpot
In a small field of 6 at Swan Hill tonight the extreme outsider in the C6+ Fernco Bobby got up for the asbestos man at the odds of $55.60
The second outsider was $12.30 so we really are talking extreme outsider

JUST 50c short of equalling the leader!
Rostevarren in the trot at Melton tonight paid $98.90
http://www.harness.org.au/meeting-re...ic#MXM06011709
Silk Banyula in the 7th at Goulburn today, $136.90
*NEW LEADER*
Silk will take a lot of beating :)
Amazing odds for any horse drawn 1 (and first up)
From NZ. Click on the 2nd pic to watch the finish

Tutoko Kid's effort was amazing and was better than the horse that won at GP a month ago after galloping, especially at the long odds. But I just cant find the post I sent in about it.
I think the NZ race should be shown on all news channels just for its sheer brilliance but also that the plebs across the world can see that all is not lost, you can get a winner if you wait long enough even if it is a grey.
Would it be this thread Pat?

Great read, here is a taste:
"After qualifying and racing a few times without success, Duncan decided to put a bit of variety into the life of the big grey and took him and trained him last summer to become an endurance horse, riding him over long distances in some of the most serene trekking spots available in the South Island"
That's the one Kev
In the first at GP tonight, Be Prepared paid $152.20.
2nd started @ $34.70
3rd started @ $35.90
the $1.70 fav ran 4th
Sensational Robert and he was even 151 Fixed
Nobody had the First Four and there wasn't a whole unit on the Tri either so some jackpoted (as did some of the Exacta pool)
And to think he was not even the longest odds in the race (strangely No12 who was 101 fixed was 157 Tote)
I cannot see that one being bettered

Good Odds at Gloucester Park
So far up to Race 7 an all up $1 bet if you managed 7 winners in a row would have you at over $30 MILLION !
An all up on the first 7 races at Melton tonight would only have returned you $2,532 and that includes a $9.40 and a $26.80 winner
(5 out of 9 winners at Melton < $1.80 tonight)
Ima little tycoon won tonight at Albion Park race 6 paid $125 - 2nd place "The Plainsman" paid $97, both off the 2nd row in a mile race. The winner had not won since December 2015
A new leader that I cannot see being beaten
The Mighty Rock $193.20
Race 1 at Pinjarra on Monday. What has happened to our WA posters? (this forum seems to be hanging on by the skin of its teeth)
http://www.harness.org.au/meeting-re...wa#PAB08051713
http://www.harnesslink.com/Australia...s-a-193-winner
The above is an excellent article by Ken Casellas on all WA's longshot drivers
The Trifecta paid $16,175
How can that be when the pool was only $12,682 ?
https://www.tab.com.au/racing/2017-05-08/PINJARRA/W/H/1
That could not be 100% correct because I think there are jackpots involved when nobody gets the trifecta for 100% but in essence someone had a flexi and got the trifecta for less than 100%.
Yep, it was the non jackpot part that got me Brendan
we need stats.
Kev, it looks like it has been beaten re post #24
Capture me in Launceston paid $98 for the win in race 5 last night- but I believe it paid $274 for a win unit in NSW according to Foxtel last night.
Now that wont be beaten...................................
Another long odds winner in race 7 at Menangle last night, Captain Cosmonaut paying $84.30 for the win.
A brilliant drive by Amanda Turnbull, extracting the Captain four back on the pegs on the final turn, then moving to the outside through the traffic with a flying final burst to win by a head.
Well worth a look:

It is not often that the backmarker in a trot is equal longshot of the field as they must have wins on the board to be off that mark but at Echuca tonight Dabbsey was just that
This 10yo had earnt his 40m handicap but this old fella was having his 201st start. He had won 15 of 200 while his fellow outsider of the field was the 4yo polemarker Someones Singing who had won 1 of 32
It was Dabbsey who knocked off the $2.40 favourite by a half head and paid the tidy sum of $54
http://www.harness.org.au/meeting-re...ic#ECC27061707
No long odds in a 4 horse race but in R1 at Maryborough today they finished in reverse market order
Strangely the First Four ($52) paid less than the Trifecta ($63) which paid less than the Exacta ($122)

https://www.tab.com.au/racing/2017-0...OROUGH/MYB/H/1
ps The pools were all tiny
Maybe I should have put Im Monica in the names thread (Sportswriter x Oval Office Affair) but after notching up her first win and paying $56 in the 2yo at Shep tonight, this will do
http://www.harness.org.au/meeting-re...ic#SPC11071707
I think I said it last year, that you couldn't go wrong following David Murphy
He had a $32 winner at Horsham on Monday and tonight at Bendigo he had an $87 winner
I hope you put a few of your hard earned on those horses Kev. There is always an unusually high amount of long shot winners when the horse is owned, trained and driven by the one person. Stewards always document QIP
He cannot challenge the leader but an honourable mention to Craving a Smile who was the longest price starter in the 6 horse C2-3 at Ballarat tonight
and got up at $64.10
http://www.harness.org.au/meeting-re...ic#BAC10081701
Trifecta Bendigo rc 7 rates a mention.
A $97.80 winner for Murph tonight at Ballarat
http://www.harness.org.au/meeting-re...ic#BAB19081704
Now that's what you call an improved performance.
