Apg 2021
Bendigo has the 3yo heats tonight but while there are 29 C&Gs going around in 3 heats we only have 12 fillies going around in 2 heats, I wonder why there is such a big discrepancy
Menangle had there heats on Tuesday and I think the sexes were much the same number

Fantastic quality in the 2yo heats at Ballarat on Thursday night
Ladies in Red's half sister Our Little Jet makes her debut in the last
It will be interesting to see which of Emma Stewart's runners Kate Gath drives

With only 2 x 6 in the fillies heats I guess they all go through to the final

This article says only the first 5 qualify so we must not be utilizing the tracks maximum field size

Ht.1 C&G Khafaji at his first start left them in his wake.
He is a Somebeachsomewhere and was a $55,000 purchase

Somebeachsomewhere has now sired the winner of all 3 heats so far (but does not have one in the last)
Poster Boy's brother looks every bit as good as him and Anne was not far off a double with Irish Black Label most impressive running 2nd in the next (she did breed the dam of the winner)
I don't think Beach Villa was offered for sale
while Petillante fetched $72,000

The super Stewart/Tonkin stable had 9 of the 27 going around in the 4 heats last night, all qualified so they will have 9 of the 20 going around in the 2 Finals with 6 out of 10 in the fillies final
Tonight at Kilmore we have the 2nd round of the 3yo's (which operate under different rules to the 2yo's). From reading the conditions I think the first 2 qualify for the national final but I am not totally sure. I wish the blurb for each race in the Form Guide could state it

Instead the Form Guide says Refer Bendigo, May 13 for details. which was when the first round heats were run at Bendigo but it is a totally useless redirection as all you will find for May 13 now is the Results, not any detail that may have been in the Form Guide blurb back then
Anybody know how many qualify for the final?

It’s a mess Kevin. The conditions were changed mid series. Participants were not notified and nothing was put out through the media. It was a big topic of discussion at Kilmore last night as there was much confusion regarding the qualifying conditions.Two heats were run but the first heat results in the Eastern States do not count. Qualifying conditions now are: Field selection to be determined solely having regard to the finishing position of horses in the 2nd round heats ( first in WA) with WA’s first round heat winner plus all NSW, QLD, and VIC second round heat winners plus the second placed horses from NSW and VIC second round heats ranking highest !

Thanks Anne. After searching for the conditions on the APG website I 'guessed' that the first 2 went through as it said should further horses be required to make up a final
a) The second placed runner from QLD’s second round heat is ranked first;
b) The fastest third placed runner from VIC’s second round heats is ranked second;
c) The fastest third placed runner from NSW’s second round heats is ranked third;
