Monkey King bound for the spelling paddock

New Zealand's best harness racing pacer over the past two years will head to the spelling paddock for the next 4-6 weeks. "The Monkey" was a satisfactory seventh in yesterday's (Sunday) Rangiora Classic, but still well short of his best according to the gelding's trainer Brendon Hill. "We can't quite put our finger on the problem and why he's not racing quite as good as he can, I refuse to believe that it's an age thing, I don't believe that for a minute," Hill said.
