12yo Really Under Fire has just won R1 at Ballarat. It is his 19th win in his 234 start
You really have to marvel at the longevity of the Standardbred as his winning time of 1.57.6 is not that far off his best winning time of 1.56.7 set 3yrs ago

I saw this terrible pic promoting Tiger Tara - are nose strips still around?
Yep, widely used.
I don't know that I saw any at Melton tonight
I reckon we could take 'easy kill' out of our vernacular
It would sound much better if we just said what we mean - "easy win"
PP talking some total crap this morning about last night's Ballarat meet
Questioning Greg Sugars drive on La Captain in R8, suggesting he did not go for the lead when it was there for the taking but then pushed the pace. The Lead Time was a couple of seconds faster than average and Q1 in a slick 28.8 - all the leader/winners doing. He also suggests a lack of vigour in the straight - everybody knows (respects) that Greg does not flog his horses, he used the whip, saw the horse was not really responding (and doing its best) and correctly assessed that it was not going to make up the difference
He then makes a whole topic of the race-caller initially going for the leader in R4 before suggesting otherwise. The margin was a nose. He mixes in some Queensland is better than Victoria theme to pad out a topic that was not a topic

Whilst I'm not fan of the protestor, PP calls her a two bit hooker. For a guy who pedals respect for women like this article https://peterprofit.com/happy-intern...-of-the-sport/ it goes to show he has no credibility. Respect for woman when it gains him credit but seemingly went out the window when he forgot to put on a show.
But Brendan you have to love how he writes ups the 'Dead Horse on Course then Buried in an Asbestos Pit' story for Glenn Douglas and Eric Anderson to commemorate Bernie Winkle breaking the most wins at a track record
Sorry but like he said - they should have got life
