You had me scratching my head there for a moment Wayne. Can that abbreviation mean anything else?

Thanks Kyle, I thought that may have been it
The Race 4 Trot at Melton tonight
FRAMED AND HUNG - Framework x Paranoid
I was checking out the breeding of Race 1 winner at Horsham today - Im Supreme
and noticed how well named his dam is
Gigglybits - Die Laughing x Fiddlybits
Im Supreme was having his third start just like the Fav was - one had form 3&7 the other 6&4
one started $1.20 the other $12
Harness people are crazy punters
ps Gigglybits is a half sister to star juvenile Yada Yada Yada who was exported to the US and was still racing in 2010 (It cost me $1 to find that out)
Yada Yada Yada A had a colt by Somebeachsomewhere in the US in 2013 (cost me another $1 to find that out - sometimes we do not realize how lucky we are in Oz!)
First starter in the last at Bendigo tonight
Art Of Deception - Modern Art x Dont Tell Lib (a good filly who has been a most consistent producer)
Looks easy after you hear it but we all know about hindsight
At Maryborough today 4yo Happy Schnapps brought up his 3rd win from 6 starts (all this calendar year)
He is just as well named as he is well performed
Grinfromeartoear x Oh Whata Spirit
3yo Beaming going around for her 2nd start at Geelong in half an hour
It is easy to guess she is by Grinfromeartoear but with the dam being Abbreviated, I don't think they could have done any better
Hezthebigbopper - Mister Big x Cantstopthemusic
In the early 80's a filly in Sydney was named Merkin Only raced once before she had to have a name change
I had to look that one up Jim :o
Me thinks it could be a candidate for the facepalm names thread ;)
Menin Gate.
You might need google it but very clever.
It is super clever Paul
Menin Gate - Somebeachsomewhere x Dreams Of Heaven
An honourable mention?
Bendigo Cup night with races beamed into France. The connections of Toulouse Lautrec entered into the spirit of the night. Wonder if the girls at the Moulin Rouge had a flutter?
Not necessarily exactly the same subject.
When I was at the races with a mate of mine I asked him who he backed at Melton.
He told me Son of Fat Rump. He double used the f and I told him it was pronounce Sun of a Trump.
I AM I CRIED - Wind Cries Maori x Diamond Copy
Interesting breeding too
He has a 3x4 cross of the mare Maori Mia (on both maternal sides)
and with the 3x3 Red Coach Glory making it a 3x3 cross of ¾ sisters
http://www.harness.org.au/ausbreed/r...orse_id=570873
He came a distant 2nd in the 3yo Restricted trot at Kilmore today
Not a trotter but made me chuckle....racing in the second at Hawkesbury gallops today...DONTNICME.....is a 3YO gelding...they didn't listen.
I know I have mentioned it somewhere else other than this thread but with another win on the board today at Ballarat this excellent Larrakeyah Lady descendant (2 winners on the same card) deserves to be in this thread
Punch Line - Grinfromeartoear x Lifeline
I am not sure that I would have chosen this for my equine athlete but it is clever
Givesirabone = Our Sir Vancelot x Mother Hubbard
Two that I quite like, where some thought has gone in are
IREADTHENEWSTODAY - by Day In A Life (Beatles fans will get that) and
THE SLEEPY LION - out of a mare called Awimbaway....
Yes that was outstanding Kev, I can imagine you listening to a race with a Beatles themed horse and you bursting into song drowning the caller out....
In the 2nd just run at Bendigo (I was surprised we had no spruiking of this meeting by Noel ;) Stawell tomorrow everybody :D) number 1 having his second start was
Whowouldathought
by Ponder was probably justification enough but there is more to it (I think ;))
the dam is Classic Crouch which surely has to be the 'The Thinker'
Brings back memories of a great holiday when I visited Musee Rodin
Good to hear from you Taylah - good luck with him - I like your thinking
What about the trotting winner at Maryborough during the week.
Defence Got Jumped by Wicked Subwoofer out of Mental Power.
Nothing logical there, BUT Wicked Subwooffer has only left one foal, so muct have jumped de fence.
The breeding gives no clues as to ability, but the family did produce Paleface Adios
Good one Noel, I hadn't heard of Wicked Subwooffer and it all makes sense now.
Sounds a lot like the one Brenno told us about 'Daddywho' (see post 67)
Trying to think of Brenno's one I searched for 'Whos My Daddy' - not the one I was after but well named having the breeding
The Other Guy x Alpine Lady
Hi Noel, I know the breeder/trainer of Defence Got Jumped. You are right, one morning he found that Wicked Subwoofer then a 2yo colt had jumped the fence and was in with some mares. He then got him gelded and hoped that he hadn't served any of the mares. Not long after Mental Power went to Adelaide to race and won a few races there. When she returned he sent her to a stud to be served and they informed him that she was only about a month away from having a foal . She was a big mare and didn't even look in foal. Of course he had forgotten about the fence jumping incident by then so it took a while and some dna testing to find the father !
Defence Got Jumped has a heap of ability but no brains ! He galloped in his first 6 starts , often just after hitting the front in the home straight then in start 7 he finally trotted all the way and won. Lets hope he has turned the corner and wins a lot more !
The name of the dam of The Big Show in the first here at Horsham caught my eye. It is a little mean but I like it.
Gates Closed = Catch A Flight x Run Samson Run
Race of the day coming up and I noticed Alta Tearaway's breeding
Western Terror x One Cookie Left
He should have been called
Cookie Monster
A first starter in the first at Kilmore in about 10mins
Whatelsugot = Elsu x Waynes Gift
VERY clever
Whatelsugot- Same trainer and owners also responsible for
Up At Sparras (by Dawnofanewday)
Palmers Punchline (by Sportswriter)
Kevin...I know that you are not a fan of the fititallinoneword kind of naming like Chairmanoftheboard ( might have been the original in this style) , or Timesareachangin, Somebeachsomewhere etc.
BUT
Check Maryboorough Race Three this coming Thursday for a good one:

Perfect name for the weather we are having Noel.
I hope Bendigo tonight is better than Ballarat was today, coming home from Melbourne, the car said it was 3° as we approached Ballarat at lunchtime today
ps Idontmindthesentenceinonewordnames
Wonder what the "brilliant names" that earned Darren Cole a fine were?
$100 for each !
Trainer Darren Cole pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of Rule 95(4) which states: A person making application to name a horse shall ensure that all proposed names comply with Regulation 1 Schedule B Australian Stud Book Regulations. The particulars of the charge being that Mr Cole submitted two inappropriate horse names on a Harness Racing Victoria ‘Application for Naming’ document. Mr Cole was fined $200. In assessing penalty Stewards acknowledged Mr Cole’s guilty plea, forthright evidence and the nature of the names submitted.
Interesting one Noel. I wonder whether he may have been having a shot at someone, simply rude or what?!
My parents horse bourbon and coke (loyal lord-Bacardi and coke ) I remember when he won his first race the caller saying he was well named
Just looking at the breeding of tonights Cranbourne winner Fake Smile, who is well named but the one I really like from the family from a naming perspective is her half sis
Artificial = Perfect Art x Counterfeit Girl
