A wonderful celebration last night and he let no one down as always. Well done HRV!
Lance comment after race that other great ones will come along and no doubt he is right. They might stand next to him or above him, but they will never, ever replace him.
An irreplaceable part of our lives.
Thank you Trigger.
The King of Horses!
Perfectly said Paul! I have mixed feelings of joy, happiness and sadness. I wouldn't trade any of it for nothing.
As a huge fan of Trigger, I also will miss his courage and will to win. His racing style of catch me if you can never left the opposition guessing what Lance would do from any draw.
Accordingly they planned their tactics around Smoken Up.
Some friends asked over the weekend, how many times was he was nabbed on the line. This prompted me to go through his Australian record and I am amazed at the result.
He finished 2nd in 34 races.
From 1/2 head to a neck....15 times difference in prizemoney 2nd v 1st $ 735,300
Between 1m and 2m....... 9 times difference $ 557,200
Greater than 2m..... 10 times difference $ 158,250
The total difference in prizemoney is $ 1,450,750.....unbelievable.
That is absolutely unbelievable Bailey! Thanks for posting those stats! I still am finding it hard to accept that Trigger will never race again, even though everyone's and everything's time eventually comes to an end.. I personally don't think I will see a similar horse like Trigger in my life again. Who would have thought that from following him 7 years ago, he would have a deep impact on me today. Enjoy your rest Mighty Trigger.

Thanks for that Paul, greatly appreciated! A few tears were just had again. Geez, I'm going to miss
Trigger :( I'm also very sad, as I went to to his Melton farewell night, but I had to leave early which couldn't be helped. I hope I get the opportunity somehow to have a pic taken with the Mighty Champ one day soon.
