I got a duet last night in the trot at Geelong, 2horses both basically paying $45 win and about $8 place, duet only paid $19...why so low?
Just noticed 2 horses paying $6 a place each duetted at Bendigo races today race 4 paid $257! In that same race the exacta for same horses paid $198! What the?
Does anyone know how theses numbers are worked out?

With the duet, there are 3 winning payouts so the total pool is split in 3 for each of the winning possibilities.
This pool is then divided by the number of winning tickets.
In the race in question, there was a total of $360 only in the duet pool. That means there was only a total of $120 to be paid out for your combination. i would seem that there must have been $6 wagered on that duet combination
