There was about $12k in the Win pool and about $75k in the Place pool

Centario paid money back $1 the Place - he was always going to and even the caller mentioned the pool long before they jumped , stablemate (and winner?) Harley Hanover paid $1.10

a similar race was R2 (which had a $1.10 fav) had $15k in the Win and <$10k in the Place

Is it a case of the kickbacks the big punters get for big turnover?
