Hope thats smoke n mirrors from Anthony. While H2H I think KOS is the best horse in the race he lead from inside barriers in Hunter Cup and Miracle Mile. I'll be happy to be proven wrong and see a new superstar announce himself but I don't see it personally.
While I think there is questions on Balraj (given when he beat KOS was KOS first up and race won't be run with a 25.6 final qtr, and Zennarts flop a fortnight ago) I'm leaning he might be real deal.
I really don't think Lochinvar needs to get in an early speed burn, first up I don't think the appetite for Code Bailey to go too hard too early and Bling is best served with a final sprint so should be able to get the running line easy enough, be close enough and set alight at some stage and run past them. Nothing from the back line is going to be in a rush to get the death so won't get carted too far back in running line.
I think the market has got this pretty right.
Only bet I'd like to have is a Tam Major V Rishi head to head but doubt such a market will open.
HYPOTHETICAL
If we reversed the draw ie the Front Line became the Back line
1: Code Black
2: Rishi
3: Tam Major
4: Hurricane Harley
5: Major Times (emg)
6: Cruz Bromac
____
8: Balraj
9: Code Bailey
10: Bling It On
11: Lochinvar Art
12: Alta Orlando
13: Cash N Flow
14: King Of Swing (I know there is no 14 draw but humour me)
Would Hurricane Harley and Code Black be top 2?
I think it illustrates that draw should not be that important = fairer tracks (sometimes distances too but we have to have sprint races, then again they should be small fields all front for the Big races eg MM)
I am only trying to put myself in an owner's shoes and I think it can be heartbreaking
I know it would do nothing for punting but maybe the best qualified should be given the advantage (draw selection) just as AFL finals are geared to rewarding the top teams
I'd still have LA favourite. Line ball Code Black/Balraj 2nd fave.
Certainly have a good point though. I was thinking earlier in the week how much the market changed post draw compared to the big thoroughbred races that seen barely any change.
Basically swap Balraj with Alta Orlando and Cash N Flow and they switch prices. KOS would be fave.
Longer races and bigger tracks is the answer.
Don't forget to enter the competition to pick the first 5
https://www.thetrots.com.au/news/art...top-5-and-win/
And he takes 0.1 off the Tk Rec
The race really lived up to the expectations
Did they ever do an article on the competition winner and whether anyone picked the first 5?
Important to follow these things up if we are to attract sponsors for competitions like this
