Looking at R1 at Stawell today, I would not rule out that the favourite drawn the outside of the front row, may not have scored up with them because he did not like the high fence on his outside.
Of course he may have just been in a mood but he has definitely shown better mobile speed than that in the past.
It did not matter as Jackie B still got him home

Another interesting race re Northam race 5 (disclosure bit again re having a horse in it). In the first 100 mtres or so it appears a horse (Yankee Lincoln) gained a benefit by using the sprint lane. I am not saying there is anything untoward or intent to gain an advantage, more a racing type thing but it is something I have not seen or noticed before.

No wonder one our posters left Yamba

Big Ben was 6.8 metres long and ruled Alligator Creek in Yaamba, near Rockhampton, nearly 150 years ago. After he was killed, his stomach was said to contain “assorted” human bones.CREDIT:STATE LIBRARY OF QUEENSLAND

Terrible news. Huge fan of that horse, so fast and tough.

I just had to put this in somewhere... In the Blue Diamond....Rue De Royale , has had 3 starts for 2 seconds & won $593 thousand.

Unbelieveable . I feel that we were & are in the wrong game everyone.

Funny Mark , my mate had a galloper when we meet & I told him to get rid of it. How stupid of me.

Good decision by HRV to cancel today's Horsham yesterday (It got to 40 there today)
Strange that gallops thought it OK to proceed with Stawell races.
I reckon many are having a long trip home what with the Western Hwy being closed between Ararat and Beaufort
I saw the Maher racing truck pulled over by the boys in blue in Ararat this morning
Just before that I had seen a strange little cloud on the ridge as we approached Ararat - very strange on a hot blue sky day
Once we got to Buangor it was clear what it was
We were in Beaufort for early lunch at 11.30 and the bakery lady did not seem concerned about what was going on up the Hwy - I was very concerned
F#(&!$ fires, I am over them. Neighbouring Pomonal and now Beaufort
Weather gods please give them a break and kill the wind with the change
Fingers crossed it is happening as Ballarat's peak gust at 6.30 was half of what it had been earlier
