In relation to the decision to affirm the 12 year disqualification for both Shayne and Greg Cramp, Senior Member Proctor allowed for the co-operation of both parties with authorities, by concluding, ‘But for that co-operation I would have added some extra years of disqualification’. http://www.harness.org.au/news-artic...?news_id=33170

Driver Peter Sanderson nearly got a lesson that the race isn't over till its over at Charlton, in the next trots race commentator Jim Jacques wasn't so lucky when he went the early crow at Strathalbyn.

I wonder why Ararat have gone with the shorter distance for their Cup on Saturday
Last year when it was still a SS it was over 2570m

Only 7 starters for the Warragul Cup on Sunday is disappointing in my book

Not the strongest field for a group 3 Cup I have ever seen- there is no Lazarus or Lenny in the field and over 2600m compared to the shorter Ararat Cup. I have no idea why Group 3's are run over different distances, especially as there is a points tally for the end of this series and a champion will be crowned.
I thought Victoria was on the up but the way these races are programmed it appears as if there is no change to what was posted regarding this same issue before xmas. Warragul has only half a field. Probably a lesser horse who has won weaker country cups and has not raced against the top horses may win the championship !!!!!

Having said that it looks as if they will be bumper days with big crowds which is a win / win all round. Cant ask for much more than that apart from hoping the races are very competitive.

The Warragul Cup was a good race despite having only 6 runners but it may have been more interesting if Milly Perez had won the Ararat Cup last night.
If that had happened I imagine Im Corzin Terror would not have scratched today as he would have needed points to take the Country Cups Championship

This article promoting (?) today's Great Eastern Steeple does not read well for the gallops industry

    http://www.smh.com.au/sport/horserac...16-gvlpso.html

It reads to me like the author if not the trainer is worried as to whether the horse will survive it
