You know how supermarkets like to make prices seem less Eg $3.99 not $4.00
Well I think we should more or less do the reverse

At present in $7,000 races we pay $3,990 to first and $210 to fifth

I think we should make it $4,000 and $200
    Sounds better to me

You have a valid point Kev, and for more then it just sounds good. The first figure in an $ amount is the one that has the greatest impact on people’s perception of value so a $4000 first prize is way more attractive to most then $3990 even though it’s just $10 more.

And on the reverse side, the previously advertised $10000 service fee, no discounts, for Lazarus as per his American owners requirements is now advertised on Yirribees website as $9900!

I'm not sure Craig Rail is adding much by tipping favourites each way in 7 horse fields

Agree entirely! 10 bucks makes a big difference to perceptions. And, why should the winners fund the also-rans?

Not much disparity Jim, the Kiwis breeders only getting a $10 discount!

    $8600 plus 15% gst equals $9890

Dot, $9890 NZD is equal to $9423 AUD so they save $467 AUD . When you remember they will be selling many of the foals to Aus it seem a bit unfair .
    Don't die wondering !

Rick I did consider the difference in exchange rates in “actuality” but I think you will find that Lazs owners are operating on the principle that $1US equals $1AU equals $1NZ, maintaining his fee at or near $10,000 as in the US.

On that principle his owners are taking the hit on exchange rates between the US and Aus/ NZ.
