Makes you wonder - you know if they had late entered him (and any others from that stable who also may have missed the 11 a.m deadline) and said it was that famous harness excuse called "office error" would anyone have queried it - I think not. We have seen fields re-drawn 24 hours later where runners have been omitted (sure they were probably nominated before the deadline) and no one queries. What do you think would have happened if it was (e.g.) Monkey King or similar? As the secretary for Franklin said they needed the horse for that race and it's omission will have cost the club. Oh well, of course nothing can be done - except perhaps for next year's conference one of the organisations could lodge a remit allowing dispensation where there was a genuine reason - afterall what is so different from the races where late entry is permitted (with of course the necessary fee) after the nominations have closed.
