With over an inch of rain falling on the day prior to Blayney's Carnival of Cups meeting, discussions were taking place as to whether to transfer the meeting to Bathurst, or postpone to the Monday.

Trackman, Peter Davis, was confident that if the forecast was right for only afternoon showers on the Sunday, that the track would be fine.

Was he ever more right. Three track records on the day over the 3 distances raced. I have it on good authority, that Pete started working on the track at around 6am on the Sunday, and had it in fine fettle ready for the 1st at 1:30pm.

Another great day at Blayney. It makes the heart yearn for more of it.
