Two heats and a final were held for the pony trotters. Courtney Laker on Bad Boy Rusty won the final. A real change of luck for Courtney after trying very hard for a long time to win with her pony. Encouragement award went to Kristy Egan on Fast Shoe Two exhibition workouts were held for the big horses. Trainer Darryl Dunn won the Zilco harness. Special thanks must go to Toby McKinnon for commentating the day, Rita Burnett for her support bringing ponies/big horses, Anthony O'Brien for performing Clerk of Course duties and all the horsepeople who showed their support in attending the day. Even though the day was hampered by the rain it was evident the genuine happiness that people took in being up close to the horses in action. Some kids were heard asking their parents if they could get into pony trotting - hope they do! Both clubs will hold the day again next year. With a bit of luck the weather will be better and those who didn't get the chance to attend will do so next year.
