Make sure you watch the Ararat Cup when the replay goes up - as Luke said "A Fantastic Race"
They broke the Tk Rec by 1.6 secs

The stewards' report should make enlightening reading if they do their job right. Call me old fashioned but
Matt Craven and Jason Lee both deserve at least 8 week suspensions for incompetent drives on th two favourites. And all betting fluctuations need to be thoroughly investigated.

There could be a bit of friction between the cousins and Matt may be in a bit of trouble (I didn't say anything earlier as I did not want to 'spoil' the race for those who had not seen it)

It is Jason that the stewards have suspended at this stage but there is an adjourned inquiry. I find the premise that the leader should give it up if pressured, a strange one - maybe we are supposed to follow the Americans and rotate the lead

This tactic is catching on a bit and makes for exciting racing
Dublin Chubb tried it at Maryborough on Wednesday and only got beaten a HFHD

And yet PP is complaining about a driver trying it at Addington back on Feb 4.
He did fail miserably and got a 5 meeting holiday but PP suggests he should have got life!

There is no premise that the leader must hand up the lead when, or if, challenged. There is, quite rightly, expectations that drivers drive their horses to give them the best possible chance of winning. Had Craven and Lee been driving cars on a public road the cops would have charged them under "hoon" laws.

Lee's suspension was for forcing another runner three wide when trying to cross Kimble at the 1900 metre mark. More suspensions to follow I would think, although the naughty cousins will have had ample time to dream up a cock 'n bull story that gullible stewards are likely to swallow by the time they get around to holding the inquiry.

As I hinted, the matter should and could have been dealt with on Sunday night while fresh. I fear it will be swept under the carpet at the expense of the diminishing number of punters; these horses were the first and second favourites.

Good find by you Brendan. It is interesting to note that apart from wins at lesser tracks like Ararat and Mildura and his one win at Melton, the new 1.47.6 horse's other 5 wins have always been at $4.70 or better

    Watching the Chariots again
The winner was most impressive, he got a slight check from Titian Raider breaking and then was one of the ones working in that incredible Q1 as he was hunted up to hold 3 fence, then in the home straight he had to be restrained while cutting across the back of them to get the run out wide
Along the same lines, Chevron Art was restrained while coming wide and finished incredibly (at 125/1)

I wish I had thought to Blackbook him as he was always going to do this and win some time soon and I missed him (so did his opposition)
