I clearly had too much time on my hands today as I was taking a closer look at the Passed In lots
Anyway Lot 83 caught my eye as I had not heard of the covering sire En Solitaire
If you haven't either the following will fill you in

    http://www.harnesslink.com/News/En-S...olitaire%20FRA

I decided to do the pedigree for what will be the resultant foal of he and mare Lot 83 Natural (she is a rare McArdle trotter from NZ and will not make it into our stud book/HRA search until/if this pending foal is registered one day)
Here is a link to HRNZ for Natural and En Solitaire (who is standing in NZ this season) in case my attachment does not download

    https://harness.hrnz.co.nz/gws/ws/r/...rSite&Arg=TRUE

    https://harness.hrnz.co.nz/gws/ws/r/...rSite&Arg=TRUE

Anyway, the foal would be one for the gambler who likes an outcross
You will have to go back 6 generations to get any duplication in the pedigree and 7 generations for a cross duplication

I should have also mentioned that Natural's family is a pretty good one eg. her dam is a full sister to top performer Tribute

    Update on my figures
It now seems that 51 of 113 (after withdrawals) sold

25 of 60 Mares in foal at an average of $6,615

14 of 29 empty Mares at an average of $3,680

12 of 19 Weanlings at an average of $10,110

    0 of 4 Yearlings

    0 of 1 Stallion

The clearance Rate is therefore 45%

    The sale average is $6,635

These figures are at 10.30am on 20/08/2019 (as they may be changing due to ongoing sales)

ps Lot 106 (Mare) is listed as having sold for $0

There are surely massive positives from running a sale like this. Broodmare sales should never be compared to yearling sales in terms of clearance rates. It’s a niche part of our game. The clearance rates were much lower for WA based sales entries as opposed to others for obvious reasons.
There are huge advantages to buyers and sellers with a sale like this. The outlay costs for APG and Vendors is minimal. Advertising is basically the only cost with horses being able to be auctioned while standing in their paddocks at home. The location of horses will no doubt play a part in the bidding process, I for one, was not going to buy a horse based on WA or Qld solely cause I didn’t want to fetch it.
I was so excited to see the catalogue for this sale and even more happy that I picked a mare up. I’ll definitely watch with interest again next year. It gives newer Breeders in the game, access to world class bloodlines, a perfect way to start out.

WA wasn't a drag on the sale Grant - 14 mares out of 24 sold (lots 1-10 all from the one estate all sold)

Most/all less than their Services Fees, definitely a buyers market.

I certainly agree with that Trent, my point about WA was only that WA did not hurt the clearance rate percentage
