David Miller 10th to get to 10,000 wins

    October 25, 2011
A strong middle move from Beatgoeson Hanover in the sixth race at Harrah's Chester on Tuesday afternoon gave driver David Miller his 10,000th career win. The 3-year-old daughter of Andover Hall struck the front moving into the far turn, just holding off a late closing Hava Kadabra to prevail in 1:55.

Miller is the 10th driver in the history of North American harness racing to reach the 10,000 victory plateau.

The 46-year-old old Miller won his first race in 1981. He set a career high for victories with 733 back in 1998, which ranked him second that year behind Walter Case Jr.

It was the second major milestone this month for Miller at Chester.
Back on Oct. 17, a win with Panagler in the $36,500 mares winners-over pace and the $18,250 credited to Miller's 2011 totals saw him reach $10 million in seasonal earnings for the 10th time in his career, thus making him the first driver in history to accomplish that feat. He was previously tied with John Campbell for the most $10 million seasons with nine.
Miller recorded his first $10 million season in 2001 and broke that plateau again in both 2002 and 2003. After recording $8.49 million in 2004, he was back over the $10 million mark in 2005 and has reached that level every year since. His best year came in 2008 when his mounts earned $12,183,868.
