    2yo's for 2022

As Trevor told us in the NZ thread, Vincent's Seve won the first 2yo race in NZ but I am thinking the MR of 2.02.5 is not telling us much

    https://infohorse.hrnz.co.nz/datahrs...8645-race-7-dl

In Australia our first 2yo race was at Pinjarra last Monday with American Ideal's Cab Sav winning but once again the MR was only 2.03.1

Watched both races now and you would have to say that neither winner is necessarily any better than some of those they beat

We won't give Vincent too much credit yet as the dam has been a good producer with Bettors - one a WA Gp3 winner, one a 3rd in a QLD Oaks, and a Courage Under Fire going 1.49.2 in the US

In Auckland they really only got sprinting the last furlong. The winner raced greenly but knuckled down when the sprint was on. From memory the runner-up was a $80k sales purchase a day the winner is a home bred. It's early in the season to worry about times, more to worry about manners. That said, a Vincent filly qualified at Ashburton last week in 1:58.5 but didn't appear to be quite ready yet. Another couple of trials, perhaps.

If they get a few more late noms for YV on Monday (only 4 entered at this stage so not looking good) we might see our first Huntsville go around in Vic (2 so far in WA for 1 winner)

Easy to miss this one, as Huntsville's Tardelli had its first start in open company at Menangle yesterday and the 2yo won in 1.53.0

Quick times being run by the babies here at GP; a filly running 1.56.3 is the time of the night so far with the boys not far behind.

Fly Like An Eagle's Temukas Girl did look very impressive Katie and you guys would be happy with how your Hunstville is progressing
Huntsville's Rocket City looked a bit of a rocket in winning the last colt's heat while another first season sire in Downbytheseaside provided the impressive winner in filly Between Two Thorns
Captaintreacherous is still putting his name up in lights providing the quinella in one of the colts heats
Art Major's Valedictorian sat in the death winning in fast time so Art is not giving up the title yet
