Rock Artist is Yankee Rockstar's third only starter (two 2yo's last season) and is his 2nd winner. He was very impressive after being stuck 3 wide, he finished strongly in 26.8

    http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...22#BAC07042206

I should have mentioned that Yankee only had 2 starters last year because he only sired 5 foals in his first season

I don't think Rock Artist went through the sales so Stewart/Tonkin obviously liked him to have him in their name and have somehow been able to snaffle him from Lauriston

It was great to see Rock Artist win. The current 2 year olds are the Rockstars biggest crop so hoping for more youngsters at the track. Emma and Clayton bought RA off us privately ,they love the Rockstar and wanted to support him.
I have just read the story on Harnesslink re the Stallion Levy. It was the talk of the sales. Instead of assisting the breeding industry the proposed levy will be used to fund a Slots Race and it is rumoured that ALL stallions will attract a levy at different levels.

Fantastic field sizes for Maryborough on Good Friday
The smallest fields (10 and 8) are actually the $20k 2yo Trot and the $20k 2yo Pace

    https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...s/?mc=MH150422

10 first starters in the 2yo trot (the first for the year I think)

Pinky is going around at Geelong tonight but with well bred Nyota right next to her and interesting runner The Huntress in one, we have the makings of a good race

This race will be on almost straight after NZ's The Race

It was surprising that Pinky was not in the $20k race at Mary today instead. The Stewart stable had a runner at the meeting. Maybe first starters were not eligible

APG heats at Albion Park today but they are just a warm up as there is only 1 heat for each sex

    https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...s/?mc=AP190422

APG heats at Menangle tonight don't have many more runners but there are 2 heats for each sex - not sure why for the fillies as the field limit is supposed to be 12 at Menangle
(there are two 3yo fillies heats but there are only 11 of them in total)

A never heard of before sire caught my eye in the Queensland 2yoF race. Bull Mattgregor is the sire of Maywyns La Nina
Bull never raced, he is by Roy Mattgregor who only ever produced a couple of $100k performers.
It is not like Bull's dam produced anything of note - zip, but the 2nd dam is also the 2nd dam of Bit Of A Legend who earnt $2,677,957 mostly in the US
The surprising thing about the 4 mares that Bull served a couple of years ago, three of them had 30 wins between them, so they were not duds

The race is on in an hour
