MFG to find the top and be pretty hard to hold out in my opinion. Good field and should be a great race.
If I were Luke, I wouldn't hand up to anyone in that lot.
One of the best fields for this race in recent memory. Usually it has a couple of genuine Grand Circuit performers and the rest of the field is handy FFA types. 2506 metres, mobile start. With ITMQ drawing the outside of the front and Feelgood drawing 3, Feelgood would have to be about evens for mine. In barrier order:
RAKAREBEL NZ G E Hall (Snr) Kim Prentice
DASHER VC NZ P K Tilbrook Chris Lewis
MR FEELGOOD USA L A McCarthy Luke McCarthy
RAGLAN NZ T G Butt Anthony Butt
REAL LIFE D J Harper Donald Harper
WASHAKIE NZ J P McCarthy John McCarthy
IM THEMIGHTYQUINN NZ G E Hall (Snr) Gary Hall (Jnr)
---------- Second Row ----------
CROMBIE P K Tilbrook Grant Williams
LIGHTNING RAIDER NZ L A McCarthy Colin Brown
LOMBO NAVIGATOR A L De Campo Matthew White

If Mr Feelgood can put in the run he did in the Vic cup he can't be beaten here you wouldn't think
Bookmaker Breno early analysis
Feelgood $2.00
ITMQ $5.50
Raglan $8
Washakie $13
And no, I will not be accepting bets!
Stunning....... The only word to describe Im Themightyquinn's victory in the cup. Dasher VC was really travelling in front and to give that field 25 metres start,at one stage 3/4 way up the track in last spot and then travel 3 and 4 wide and beat all bar one by 15 metres in 1:55.9 over 2500 metres was unbelievable. We did not see the best of him in the east with the onset of a cold and culminating in dehydration it just took the edge off him, but he's back hopefully.....and how.
Agreed. First two went huge. Mr. Feelgood disappointing but that happens with plenty of horses when they make the trip west.
Quinny was awesome last night, and he was clearly not at the top of his game in the Popular alm ffa and then suffering with dehydration in the Vic cup. But in saying that In the Miracle mile he was going great just not suited to the mile and beaten fairly no excuses there.
Hope Mr feelgood pulled up ok, I really enjoy the clashes between him Smoken Up and ITMQ
Looking forward to the Inters.
I thought that was Jnr. at his very best. Smashing drive, terrific win. Wicked fast horse. Loved the salute too.
Off a trip like that I don't think there's a horse anywhere in the Southern Hemipshere that could hold him out. Congrats to the connections.

A trip like that at GP and he won't be beaten in the final, he could take 5 lenghths of Smoken Up around the bends on his home track. Smoken Up couldn't get around Newcastle, god help him at GP. Home town advantage will be a major plus for Imthemightyquinn.
