ID heat 11 -wa pacers only

good to see one of the heats throughout the series is W.A based horses only. is it not strange that IMQ never met Smoken Up though?

No fields are drawn up from the rankings. Top ranked horses are kept apart in the heats. Normal practice

A first in the history of the Inter Dominion possible on Friday night
When the 2012 Inter Dominion heat winners Im Themightyquinn, Auckland Reactor and Smoken Up face the starter in their respective heats on Friday night they will be attempting to become part of a unique piece of Inter Dominion history.
While there have been 23 individual horses** get through the three round of heats of an Inter Dominion series undefeated since the concept started in 1936 there has never been an Inter Dominion with three unbeaten horses making the final.
There have only been two previous occasions in Inter Dominion history when two horses have got through the heats undefeated.
In Melbourne in 1959 when they ran five heats each night, Dusty Miller and Caduceus both got through to that year’s final undefeated in the heats.
Dusty Miller finished second to Young Pedro while Caduceus missed a place finishing fifth.
In Sydney in 2002 the stallions Courage Under Fire and Shakamaker went through the three rounds of heats undefeated with Shakamaker finishing second to Smooth Satin in the final and Courage Under Fire back in 11th place.
A third horse in Stars And Stripes won his first two rounds of heats in Sydney that year but finished six metres behind Smooth Satin on the third night.
On the 24 occasions that a horse has got through three sets of heats undefeated – eight times they have gone on to be first past the post in the final.
Stella Frost won her three heats in Christchurch in 1971 and was awarded the final after Juniors Image was subsequently disqualified over a positive final.
James Scott, 50 years ago in 1962, is the only horse to have won all three heats and the final in a Perth Inter Dominion.
** Legendary WA pacer Village Kid remains the only horse to have gone through two Inter Dominion series unbeaten in the three heats. He will listen to the final on March 2nd in his Mandogalup stable as the oldest surviving Inter Dominion winner at 31 years of age.

And James Scott broke the race record on 3 of the 4 races that year. What a final it would have been had Cardigan Bay not been injured .
Have whoever you want on but don't ever have yourself on
