Went to the Eastern Districts Picnic Meeting today and I must say that once again this event was another success. Good competitive grass track harness racing, including KidzCarts and Amateur Driving races. It took me back many years to when most meetings were like it. The drivers and trainers mingling in the crowd in such a laid back way and where the spectators could get up close with the horses.
But the highlight was having Kevin Payne back as commentator. His calls were a breath of fresh air, full concise and at times humourous reports of what was happening.
Well done to the club and thanks for another pleasure spent day. Great Fun.
