    Skewbalds

I just found out that there is an attempt to bring back the Skewbald color back into standardbred racing in Australia. I know this may belong elsewhere, but I am asking this at a high level so I think it is okay.

How are skewbald standardbreds being accepted in Australia? Are there many skewbalds racing or are they more of a curiosity and nothing more. Do they basically compete amongst their own color group or do they race mostly against other standardbreds? Are they slower than your traditionally colored horses or do they hold their own somewhat against the regular colored standadrbred?

    Thanks

    Hi Allen
I think several years ago there was a concerted effort by a few to get the skewbalds
into main stream racing particularly in QLD
There where quite a few bred but the lack of a real quality stallion
    probably didnt produce the goods
also im pretty certain most of the "good ones" ended up in countries like Ireland where they fetched good money.
Do a search on YOU TUBE...there are plenty of videos of skewbalds running Australia.

I think in general they were accepted well but just didnt run the numbers
