The Delaware Harness Racing Commission approved a new proposed rule to test for anabolic/androgenic steroids at its monthly public meeting on Feb. 8.
The rule calls for testing of testosterone, nandrolone (durabolin), boldenone (equipoise) and hydroxystanozol (winstrol). The DHRC has determined that the administration and presence of the above substances are a prohibited practice that is proposed to carry strong fines and suspensions.
All veterinarians and horsemen are advised to immediately cease and desist from administering these substances to horses competing in a racing cycle. Further notice regarding testing information will soon be posted by the DHRC. Consider this a written warning to stop the administration of the above.
