is it pronunced mach or mach??????

    Mach or Mach....Mark or Mac
Last night in a race the race anouncer said whatever MARK,
then the bloke on sky said whatever MAC for the same horse for the dividends.

You get Mach Twain , pronunced Mark,
you get Mister Magical Mach, pronunced Mac.

    The Dictionary prounce it MARK.

Not that important but curious as to how people themselves say it.
    I say Mark.

Good to see Gamechanger trial well Mitch.

However you like to pronounce it I suppose, no right or wrong. Much like:
    Schedule
    Data
    Tomato
    Graph

    I say Mark mostly.

I say Mack but no problem with Mark.
Maybe the Kiwis say Mark so its crept into Aus?

Brenno, if the Kiwis say Mark, then it's gotta be like "fesh 'n chups", or "sexes 'n sivuns" so maybe it should be pronounced Meck? or Mick? or Muck?? I think I'll go for Muck!

They are from the american sire Mach 3.
The americans (rightly or wrongly) pronounce it MARK. we should also pronounce it MARK because its a name. If it was just a word like tomato etc we could add our local touch to it but not to a proper noun.
Therefore I think MARK twain etc is correct

I'll go with how the horse gets called by the the bloke with the mike because the blokes back in the studio know jack **** shit about whats occurring in the real world (there are some that actually do though). When you see Mach Twain it is obvious how the connections want it pronounced (Mark), but we seem to accept the (Mac) version which is fine by me. Mainly when its called first, otherwise you can call it any bloody thing you like!!!

Its definately Mach(mark) for me.Named my horse on the strength of that being the name in the measurement of speed and also prototypes.I hate it when on the odd occassion my horse has raced at GP and the commentator says "Mack My Words"

Both pronunciations are correct but generally Mac in Australia, Mark in U.S. Strange though, I say Mysta Magical Mac and Mustang Mark.

I always pronounce it as Mark, with the exception being when owners specifically request a variation (Example TAB Number 1 club wanted The Big Mach pronounced Mack being a play on words)

I have also heard the people that have the sire Mach 3 want him called MACK 3 now so it does become a tad confusing...I will stick with Mark unless requested otherwise......
    Cheers
