NZ Heat, 2 spots, only 3 in it ... Nuff Said!
Vic Heat, 3. The names are there, form wise, not so much. 3 or 4 of the 9 are stocking fillers.
NSW Heat 1, 4. I'm OK with 4 from this heat. There's three times as much depth as the Supp Heat so double the spots is fair enough.
NSW Supp Heat, 2. Mah Sish and who ? Four Starzzz Flash is the 2nd Fav, Nuff Said!
= WA only getting 2 guaranteed with the ID12 Tri, Fremantle Cup winner & Co is a joke. The folk there should be mightily pissed off.

Agree, once they changed the format it was not the Interdom.
We wouldn't have any problems if it was the old format because horses would qualify on points from heats & owners & trainers understood everything & no one had a problem with it. I have never seen so many ????? .
Trainers made a holiday of racing there horses over the interdom carnival & it was great.
Gee boys I hope you get it right next year & go back to how it should be, you have plenty of money to hold The REAL Interdom.

What happens if ITMQ runs 3rd,Mah Sish 3rd and TTL 3rd ? Will be interesting. It has turned into nothing but a farce and the power's that be should be ashamed to have belittled the greatest true test of a horses ability that we have. With the 3 heats over varying distances and the final RBD gave anyone good enough to make the final a chance to win. It has turned into a free for all with the starters coming from 1 round of heat's no different to the Country series heat's and final's Menangle run monthly for the bush horses only the prize money differ's. I am ashamed of it being called The Inter Dominion and the name should be changed as to not be little the once great races name.

Couldn't agree more Greg, I think many of us thought that the series would somehow be a success anyway, but it's not looking real flash is it?
Just a bloody shame IMO. our game is doing it tougher than I have seen it in my 45 years involvement and it certainly DOES NOT need any more pain!...but it is a dead set bloody shambles.

Trish said earlier trainers treated it as a holiday. Could plan well in advance that going to go to Interdom for 2 weeks. Now... don't know until Saturday night. Trainers have lots of other horses in work, other owners and other races to aim for. Can't expect NZ trainers to drop everything and head over on no notice when other races over there to consider. Hence 3 starters in a Group 2 race.
It's going to be a super, super day on 3rd March. A great day of racing. And well done to HRNSW for promoting it so well. But an Interdom? No it's not. Invite the best horses and have the best race. But don't dress it up as an Interdom. They going to walk in that NZ race and sprint home in 26 last 1/4. Winner and 2nd in 3 horse field gets into final. Cannot compare that to the likes of what Our Sir Vancelot, etc. had to do.
Its hard not to agree with most sentiments expressed on this thread. This is an Interdominion in name only. Yesterday for the first time since I don't know when, The Daily Telegraph had a big splash in its sports pages (across 2 pages no less) by Brent Zerafa looking at the upcoming heats this Friday. It was a bit short on detail and focussed on Excel Stride (which is going like a busted ... at present) and even though it was buried away in the back of the paper, it was like turning back time to when the sport had some public interest, something akin to the once a year punters in the Melbourne Cup...its hard to believe but once upon a time most Australians had some idea what the ID was. Hope they give it a bit more serious coverage and don't just treat it as filler. The TV coverage could do with a bit more promotion too.
