Hey well done Mightymo ! Has a great future. I can't see anything getting close to Fly Like An Eagle. Also well done to the Aussies for a clean sweep at Alexandra Park on friday. Well deserved. Bring on the Inter Doms.

Love to see Fly Like an Eagle doing so well, I have recently purchased a half sister to his dam - now safely in foal to Changeover. A bit of a breeding gamble I know, but I would love one half as good. Bring on the final this race and look out the Harness Jewels.

    Hi NEW2THEGAME

I recently was in N.Z and visited Ged at Nevele R Stud and whilst there he took time out to show me Changeover and to be honest with you i was shocked at how well Changeover has let down and the size of him. He is one big strong stallion, he got a good book of mare's and should do well and hopefully your gamble will turn out for the best.

Would that be Jaguar Strike? If so, she had a nice 2yo qualify the other day by McArdle...

yes, it is, we purchased her empty last year at a bargain price. We train/breed gallopers and have always had an interest in the harness horses, liked her pedigree so gave it a shot. My research showed that her sire Jaguar Spur was not overly successful at stud and perhaps that was why she was not eagerly sought after. I felt that the rest of the pedigree was too good for me to pass up and I could forgive one 'bad' sire in the hope that I can get a good cross and hopefully get a filly. I had a couple of people do a 'match' up for me so gave it a punt and bred her back to her same dam family in Changeover.

There was a Betters Delight sold to Aussie - however does not appear to have raced, trialled etc. There is also a Jereme's Jet yearling filly.

Naturally I watch your boy and wish him well. Now all I have to decide is who to breed her to this year! apparently some of her progeny are not very big but the McArdle filly is a good size. I will watch her with interest and if she can win a few perhaps McArdle may be a good choice. Any thoughts you may have would be greatfully accepted as we are new to the standardbred breeding game.

One thing i always consider before breeding is how much am i willing to pay for a service and once i've worked that out it narrows your choices down. There's a fair way to go to the next breeding season and there will probably be new one's comming out so once you have worked out what you are willing to spend take a look at what's available at that price and go from there.
