Ross Gig - may you rest in peace

Devastating news about the Newcastle CEO passing away overnight.
A fine man, always very welcoming and personable.
The Club is poorer for having lost him, but richer for having had him.
Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Will be missed greatly he was pushing hard to run trotters races at every meeting at Newcastle to help support the couple of is trainers who trained trotters in the region , when I was struggling to find work he always had a word to keep my head up and once I found a job he always asked how it was and was genuinely interested in what you said , and whenever you won the first moment he saw you it was a big congratulations from him , RIP Ross

We have held my fathers memorial race at Newcastle for the last 8 years and Ross was an absolute gentleman.

    Absolutely devestating news.

    Vale Ross Gigg

We have lost that rare item,a man of integrity and honour. My company dealt many times with Ross and he never made a promise he could not keep, and always kept those he made.
One of life's great pleasures was to have Ross give you a free character reading of those who showed scant regard for the years of hard work that made Saturday nights,Newcastles night with Pacers restaurant booked weeks in advance.
They showed the man and his work were disrespected mainly because he showed what hard work and dedication could do.
The industry is greatly reduced by his passing.

I echo all the previous posts, Ross Gigg was the leading light in making Newcastle the successful club it has become, and as Ron says, mainly off the back of hard work and dedication, a gift he had was to install that work ethic in those around him, truly a massive loss to the Hunter Region and to harness Racing across the board.
