That is what Greg Hayes was suggesting on the coverage Rich as Bold Eagle has served mares it seemed peculiar to stable him so close to Maori Time

Anybody know the story on the superbly named Pantzup (Always A Virgin x Evasive Moves) conversion to trotting for 2 wins from 2 starts after winning at Bendigo tonight - Toohard?

What prompted it? Simply the move to Gavin Lang training? I don't know of another Always A Virgin trotter. Her broodmare sire Life Sign has had a few trotters

I thought it may have come from the maternal family Kev but I’m not so sure now, I went back to Pammy Lobell on Classic Families and looked at her descendants, It’s a real eye opener but no sign of a Trotter

Go back in any family far enough and you'll find dual gaited or horses of either gait. Only in more recent times has the breed become more specialised in one gait or the other but above that the horses are athletes and whilst not every pacing bred horse is suited to try on the trot this one obviously was. She was coming back off a long break and whilst she may have been switched to Gavin to try as a trotter I'd say it's more likely he recognised her potential as a trotter whilst working up and at the current and growing evolution of trotting here I guess her connections either felt drawn to the trotting gait or that her abilities would lead to better opportunities for her/them as a trotter.

Rightio, I am enjoying a day on Trots Vision as it is dam miserable here (surprised it has not hit Melton) and watching everything.
In the R6 trot, Imahe Man settling near the rear of the field caught my eye as he did not have the high stepping action of the others
So tell me folks, as much as I like the look of the high steppers - is it a good or bad thing

You might have to wait a couple of hours for the replay (unless you go to Sky) as they seem to running that far behind today

From what I've read for a longtime a "bicycling" type gait was considered optimum for minimising interference ( go over their knee and not hit their shins as much provided it wasn't too extreme and they hit their elbows instead) but in more recent times there is an increasing preference for a flater more energy efficient gait similar to a pacer.

Thanks Dot, I must say that Imahe Man's gait at the back of the field caught my eye because it almost looked like he was pacing compared to the others and definitely looked like he was doing it easier

Vicbred Trots finals tomorrow night. As part of renewing my love for the gait I will endeavor to watch them as I do enjoy the good ones
It seems amazing that the last race for $25k has only 2 horses in it that have ever run a place (2 thirds)
