    There is a pattern developing
Maorisfavouritesun is in the next (a Gp3) and Maori Law is in the next Gp1 (R6)

I forgot about Posseidon (R7) being from THE family - there is a possibility that we could see the same family produce 5 Group winners in a row (that would have to be a World first)

Maori Law, a good thing beaten
Am I being tough in saying that Gavin just had to keep him out of trouble and didn't.
Considering him Australia's best driver I most likely am - I would have loved to have seen history made

A good article by Michael Howard on the Maori Miss dynasty. I thought he may have mentioned the Vicbred Super Series the other week (see above) and don't be fooled by the first sentence - it may have been a yearling sale but Yendarra Hall was no yearling in 1958

The Maori Legend for 2yo trotters at Stawell tomorrow has received a $4k kick and is worth $14k

ps I wonder what became of Ash (Maorisidol) who started this thread

Yendarra Hall, by Loreto was foaled in 1953, so the sale she was purchasd from must have been a mixed sale.
Loreto , imported from Italy but with all US bloodlines, might be a key to the genes that flow through this amazing family, although Grand Monarch ( Light Brigage from a U Scott mare, from a Wrack mare), certainly contributes.

Most appropriate that one of 'the family' won The Maori Legend today
Smashthemcalder sat in the death and poured on the pressure in the final lap while the long odds on fav opted to wait for the sprint lane. Gavin received a QDT but must have thought More Shades Of Gold was not up to going 3W after not racing for 7 weeks

Discovered one of the advantages of a 10 race progam today - I had somewhere to be at 2pm but was able to take in 5 races plus lunch and still get there (Stawell is lucky to have such a good bistro - 7 days a week, I think)

ps There was a fair chance of a Maori winning the Legend as 3/7 runners are descendants

It is Redwood day at Maryborough on Sunday
A big program of trotting with 10 races - 9 of which have full fields (only drawback - a few too many 40 min gaps for my liking)
    Here are the fields

And here is the Stand trials for the Redwood Classic
