    Dual Sulky Rides

And before you all go off half cocked, check out Avonnova's record, in particular his best runs, pay some attention to the sectionals and where he was placed in the field in those races. When you are driving horses in races against opposition that is better than you ( eg IMTQ) you do not have the luxury of using tactical speed, you have to drive your horse to it's strengths, which is exactly what Bart did.

BTW also check out the fact that the horse ran a PB, how could he do that if it was a crook drive?

Harness Racing Vic now have double seater sulky races. Over 1700m. Behind the mobile and everything. Think you can buy package and sit next to a driver and go around in a race. Even take hold of the reins. Can only see on their facebook page at the moment so can't provide a link. They had one at Melton on Saturday night and reckon the 3 participants had a ball judging by looks on their faces coming back to scale.

Might be worth some of the "riders in the stand" having a go!

Double seater sulky rides were popular for some years before they got knocked on the head for insurance purposes. Remember you used to fill in the coupon in the racebook at MV of a Sat night to win a go the next week!

Now it is available again. The double cart gets used a fair bit at Warragul as part of the Training Centre for educating students before they go out on their own. It is such a buzz and it's great to see the students reaction when they come off the track, especially when they have been given the reins after a few laps and they are suddenly "in control". Something that the other codes can't offer and we really should capitalise on.

Even the old mobile ride is such a buzz for patrons. We have done a few at Warragul this year as giveaways on racedays and newcomers love the up close look at how things work. Again, something the other codes can't offer.

Fantastic idea and the Kiwi girls looked like they really enjoyed it although the older gentleman looked a bit pale. Hey Paul(Toohard) I might have to hit my trainer up for a ride, But definitley not behind Majorlook. I wouldnt be surprised if you've had a sneaky go behind your bloke lol.

We love to bag HRV , me included but this is a great idea. Well done, looks like great fun. I also like the idea of bands playing between or after the races. Maryborough have James Blundel and someone else on Redwood day, makes me fell like going !
    Don't die wondering !

No not me. I'm his 'toy' and hate to think what he'd do to me if I sat behind him. I know someone who'd be bowling around every week but unfortunately only 18 years old+ allowed.

I think there's bigger and better things in the pipeline for young Luke.

I can't get this picture out of my head of - a little brown knitted rag doll in the mouth of a large bay horse who is shaking it madly like a Jack Russell does to kill a rat
