Is that C R "Bobbie" Allen 3F?
Is that C R "Bobbie" Allen 3F?
A real stab in the dark now, Merv Adams or John Lennard behind the leader?
Reckon that's Greg Andrews on "the way to go" in the death, one of the frosts in front, CJ gleeson 1 x 2 and one of the Robinson's at the back of the main pack some time in 1994, certainly before the track was changed in early 1996.
that's my stab
As everyone knows I pinch these from a guys twitter account & he hasn't scolded me as yet for doing so, hope he doesn't they are so good & need sharing.
Its taken in the 90's not sure exactly when. Dan 100% sure that Chris Gleeson 1x2, Robbo at back, 1x1 Colin Watts colours?? , in front Vic Frost , can just see the black stars maybe. No dad not in there.

Rocket Glenfern beats Manaroa for Steve & me.
1970's weigh in at HP
Hi Trish, Is this pic, The Mighty "Rocket Glenfern", you can see from my profile he is my all-time favourite horse! In his day, he had electrifying speed, could put 20 metres on them in a blink.....was racing at a time when their were lots of good horses!
Dads favourite as well. I remember him at HP one night in one of his 2yo wins & he was dead last going up the back........went from last to first in the blink of an eye, as you say against great horses, Adios Park, Royal Dew, Remember James etc in the Challenge Stakes final, just read the write up .....driver gave up hope by Bill Ellis. Won 6 outta 6 as a 2yo, top horse fun to watch, I did collect all his write up, photos etc look at them every now & cherish the memories.
Hey Trish, my fondest memory of your father was the way he would go around the outside fence walking his horse before the start.....punters would run down to the fence and yell out, "Hey Joe can you win tonight?"......he was always honest and often said "he had no chance, or it needs the run!".....He was a beauty!
Now he would be getting fined for talking on the track!
