Further photos of the Warragul track. Finishing touches applied next week before trials next Saturday 22nd.

It has been discovered that the circumference of the track is actually two metres larger than had been thought. So race distances have been increased slightly.

Very well Kev horses seem at home either leading, on sprint lane or making ground out wide. Only 15 horses trialled and trials are hand timedbut a couple if 28 quarters. Real test will be on raceday Mon.

Yesterday was the first time a horse had touched the track so it will take time to settle.

    Will upload replays tonight.

Trial replays being uploaded now on our page which is www.youtube.com/warragulharness - they should be up later tonight.

Excuse the sometimes wonky camera work, not always easy to call it and film it at the same time!\

A host of new sponsors have joined the Warragul Harness Racing Club ahead of their racetrack reopening this Monday afternoon.
They include Winning Formula, an animal nutrition company who are generously supplying product to competitors at Monday's meeting.
All race winners will receive a sample pack which contains several products from the Winning Formula range.
Second and third placed trainers in all events will also go home with a product sample to trial.
Representatives of the Winning Formula company will be on course on Monday to talk with trainers about their product range and to answer any animal health queries.
Winning Formula are also on board as sponsors of the Warragul Trainer of the Year award.
All Equip, the Kilmore based firm behind the reconstruction of the Warragul Pacing Bowl, are backing the Driver of the Year award, while Melton Saddlery has reconfirmed their sponsorship of the Concession Driver of the Year award.
Gippsland based firm Able Onsite Services, which works closely with the power industry in the Latrobe Valley, are another new sponsor to link up with the Warragul Harness Racing Club.
They have accepted sponsorship of the Horse of the Year award. Company representative Pete Ransom is a passionate supporter of harness racing, breeding and racing horses with the Hunter stable at Trafalgar.
Last season's award winners will be recognised for their achievements at Monday's card, when a new season of racing commences at Warragul.
Connections of the winner of the first race on the new track will go home with a commemorative trophy recognising their achievement.

OK, it's good about the track upgrade but what has not changed is the long-standing issue at Warragul. Lack of numbers.

Five of the eight races next Monday have only seven runners. The trot races there always seem to have full fields though.

It would be interesting to hear from Kyle as to what he thinks the reasons are for this and what has/is being done to try and attract more starters to get full fields. You all know the lines (more competitive racing, increased turnover, etc).
