The gallopers use it now as a warm at track before cantering , all the track dressing was removed and taken to Morisset show ground to fix it up as a training track for locals I believe they got a 10k grant from hrnsw to do it

A track at Maribyrnong was closed early 2000s and the shopping centre extended over it, or maybe a pool.

Nearby was another track - Steadmans Park? which became part of a golf course. Mrs Parker made colours for years and her husband Stan was a famous horseman.

Finley in NSW came and went fairly quickly in the late 70s early 80s. Am sure some of our readers would remember it.

The pacers and trotters raced at Camperdown in the Western District of Victoria
From the Camperdown Chronicle of 18 March 1920

    Marong ( Vic)
about 15 km from Bendigo on the alternate Calder Highway had a raceourse for gallops, ponies and harness racing. These were usually on the same program. The Marong Cup for gallopers has been run at the Bendigo Jockey Club for a long time. The trotting track here is the Marong trialling track built in the 1960s.
The outline of the original racetrack can be seen to the left of the B in the Bullock Creek label.

Adelaide Direct, winner of the 1917 New Zealand Trotting Cup at Addington had her first start here. Also her last start before being taken to New Zealand where she raced for 3 years.
Then she came home to Baringhup, west of Marong, near Maldon.

Eljaykay Phoenix $177,992 from 10 out of 12 comes from Finley ( but trained by David Aitken )
    Same for Hadrians Phoenix

There is a track, but obviously the club has faded.

Saw Lucky Creed win the Carousel (or a heat..not sure) at Parramatta Trots which I'm pretty sure is under Westmead Hospital now.
Also used to go the Richmond (NSW) Grass Track for trotters.
